If you get a free gift with purchase, technically they're allowed to ask for it back if you want to return the orignal DVD. That's why alot of stores scan in lithographs and other gifts now. They don't want people buying things just for the free gifts and then returning thempotterrules93 wrote:if somebody besides disney is offering a lithograph, and i buy the movie(after reserving the movie at the disney store and keeping that copy) must i give the litho back?? if not, ill go buy the movie and return the movie but keep the litho. this could help

Whether or not they'll actually enforce the policy and ask for the item back, I don't know. If you return the item "incomplete"(without the lithograph) you may just get a store credit.

I have plushes of both Bagheera & Baloo, and I think they're cute! I'd love if Best Buy (who usually offers the plushes if there are plushes to be offered) had a King Louie plush (or any other character from this movie, since I only have Bagheera & Baloo)...Simba3 wrote: I guess plushes could be mae of Baloo, Baghera, and King Louie, though I doubt it. I don't think they would turn out well.
?

I would have thought they would be kind of awkward looking. But, if you say they look good, than maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea. I just remember the Thumper plush that Best Buy gave away with the Bambi :Platinum Edition DVD, and it was awful looking. However, the Sebastian and Flounder plushes for The Little Mermaid as well as the Lady and the Tramp plushes offered upon the Platinum Edition releases of these films were very cute.blackcauldron85 wrote:I have plushes of both Bagheera & Baloo, and I think they're cute! Here are pictures of the Baloo & Bagheera plushes I have (I'm too lazy to get out my camera, but I found these pics online):Simba3 wrote:I would have thought they would be kind of awkward looking. I've been checking in with the official website quite frequently to see if it has gotten an update. So far, there isn't a whole lot going on, however, today I noticed there is a game which it believe is fairly new. It is called Kaa's Coconut Challenge. It's kinda cute/fun, you throw coconuts at Kaa while trying to avoid hitting Mowgli, Baloo, and King Louie. I also tried to watch the trailer again and it said "Coming Soon". Hopefully this is all good news and it means the site it being worked on. I would love to see the site up and running soon, and hopefully it will have a larger picture of the revised cover art.

You can check out the new trailer, in the info department which is the following link
http://disneydvd.disney.go.com/moviefin ... 61503.html
It's much more fun and upbeat than the teaser, great lil soundbytes from the film too during the trailer.

Offical Cover Art
Amazon has posted the offical cover, it's an improvement of character places, Baloo/Mowgli are top, Shere Khan/Kaa on the right, Baggy's behind Mowgli's head, King Louie is dancing to the left with his flunky monkeys.

Thanks for that, Mason! The cover is a definite improvement over the other two. The characters are not only more on-model, but are also more detailed, making them look less CG-ish. I'm also relieved that the "40th" has been placed into the banner and not within the title logo. I think this is probably one of the better DVD covers Disney's done, Platinum or otherwise.

Re: Offical Cover Art
I like both covers, the new one is more covered in jungle, characters look on model and Baggy is on there too. Course I would perfer this cover for Adult collectors and the new one for childeren (I'd settle for that idea)

I wonder if they put it in holographic form.

Yep. The cover art is good. Very good in fact. The only problem I have with most Disney DVD cover art is that in most cases it is not mature-looking - calling for the DVD collector in a lot of people.
Some Disney DVDs which have achieved this are the original Tarzan Collector's Edition (Region 1), The Emperor's New Groove Collector's Edition (gorgeous if you ask me), Atlantis Collector's Edition (Both Regions 1 and 2 - it's a pity that on my Region 1 copy a "Version Francaise Incluse" badge spoils it
), the French Pocahontas and Peter Pan (why can't we get this cover art!?) and a few others.

I agree with you Julian, We should have mature covers for the adult/teens collectors, kinda thought we'd have Peter Pan's French Cover (and the 1924 verison) for OUR release. I can't wait to see 101's cover hopefuly it'll turn out good.

Re: Offical Cover Art.
Good point. At least it's a good improvement, I would've gone with a orange banner for Platinum Editon. Let's hope Col. Hathi, the Vultures are on the back cover, spying on Mowgli entering the village or Shanti. My guess for the disc, Disc 1: Baloo/Mowgli or King Louie/Monkeys Disc 2: Shere Khan/Kaa or King louie's Temple.
