Should... we be worried about that?
Re: Pixar's Onward
No. It's probably going to be mediocre just like most of Pixar's films. Not bad. Not good. Just mediocre.DisneyJedi wrote:Should... we be worried about that?

Now that more reviews have been added, the Rotten Tomatoes score has raised to 81%. This is the critics consensus:
It may suffer in comparison to Pixar's classics, but Onward makes effective use of the studio's formula -- and stands on its own merits as a funny, heartwarming, dazzlingly animated adventure.

In Disney animation history? Those two gazelles who are Judy’s neighbors would like a word.Sotiris wrote:More on that in the article below.D82 wrote:Also, according to MouseInfo, Onward has the first openly LGBT character in Pixar history, though it's a minor one.

"Openly gay", meaning there's no room for guessing or speculating. Though I haven't seen the film and I have my doubts but we'll see.DisneyJedi wrote:In Disney animation history? Those two gazelles who are Judy’s neighbors would like a word.Sotiris wrote: More on that in the article below.

Luke's review is up! According to him, it's just as equal as Pixar's greatest offerings and has the same Pixar magic.

I'm glad he liked it. A couple of other critics I also tend to agree with have given it a positive review as well, so I'm quite confident I'll like it too.DisneyFan09 wrote:Luke's review is up! According to him, it's just as equal as Pixar's greatest offerings and has the same Pixar magic.

Re: Pixar's Onward
There's going to be a new Simpsons short in front of Onward. This is weirder than when Olaf's Frozen Adventure was paired with Coco.

When I wanted the shorts back that's not what I had in mind.

They must have more SparkShorts in the can. Couldn't they have paired it with one of those?

Me neither. Well, I understand it from a business perspective. Like with Coco, they probably think this can help with the box office, but I don't like that they mix their brands like this at all. The good thing is that I won't have to worry if I'm late when I go to see the movie.farerb wrote:When I wanted the shorts back that's not what I had in mind.
It's a nice song, but not too original in my opinion.Sotiris wrote:Lyric video for "Carried Me with You" by Brandi Carlile.

It's the first time I hear his name. Here's his website if you're interested to know more about him: https://www.georgepsarras.com/DisneyFan97 wrote:By the way ,who is George Psarras ?
By the way, according to Luke's review, John Ratzenberger voices Construction Worker Fennwick in the film:

Re: Pixar's Onward
Seeing the Disney name over The Simpsons logo is plain wrong. Disney should really stop mixing-up their brands. If they can keep things separate for Marvel and Lucasfilm, why can't they do the same for Fox properties too?

Source: https://ew.com/tv/the-simpsons-short-pl ... d-origins/When Disney completed its purchase of 21st Century Fox properties, that included ownership of The Simpsons, Jean said the team approached the studio "with the short and said, 'We'd like to go with something that's compatible.' When they offered us Onward, we were ecstatic." As for what other fruit this Disney-Simpsons partnership will bear, Jean just teased, "I don't think this is the end of us doing theatrical work with Disney."
Re: Pixar's Onward
^Oh, no.
I thought this couldn't get any worse. I think I'll be late in purpose to avoid the short and not start the movie in a bad mood. I hope WDAS films aren't paired with Simpsons shorts too.
