Yeah, pretty much. The film will be directed by John Musker & Ron Clements, it will utilize the Paperman technique, and it will be a musical. We also know that the development team took a research trip to the South Pacific, and that the proof of concept for this project involved a Tiki guy.
Thanks. I remember reading bits about that throughout the forum, but forgot about half of it. Good to see they will continue to make musicals.

Crossing fingers for a Musker/Clements/Menken reunion.

Especially if it's going to use the Paperman technique, which I truly believe is the future of Disney animation.

I've always wanted to be a fly on the wall at WDAS, but I think now... more than ever. Even more than during the management transitions around 2006.

I gotta admit they got their creative spark back. Not to mention I can't wait until I can own Wreck Ralph on dvd.I don't know how good Frozen will be but I have a feeling that it will be a very original story.

Gahhhh this is too exciting for me, stop it. I graduate in May and have really been trying to push for a talent development trainee spot this fall... Big dreams, I know, but from the little we know of that film so far it sounds like exactly the kind of film I'd love to be a part of - I can't help but get excited about the timing of this.

I agree. And since I haven't been impressed with the direction of their animated fairy tales, I'll be very glad to see them doing something else. I'm not even big on superhero films (I enjoy them, but only moderately), but even I am looking forward to Big Hero 6. I don't think it'll compare to The Incredibles, to offer another animated example, but I'm sure it'll still be good and no doubt make a fair amount of money. Especially if Frozen also does well, it'll be following 3 financial hits.

That would be so nice. And even though I did like TP&TF more than many people here, I hope it's better than that (it would be automatically with Menken involved, but you know what I mean. ).

I am really curious about this movie in the South Pacific because in my opinion its a place where not a lot of movie settings take place.Plus I wonder if the movie is based on a South Pacific legend. Then all we have to do is wait for the angry protests of people who say Disney has butchered the story.

Or how the portrayal of the obligatory South Pacific princess is racist and how other ethnicities are now demanding their own Disney princess.

I wonder when Disney will announce Big Hero 6 officially. I believe we will see/hear something during Comic Con or D23 this summer.

Also in other news, found this on Boxoffice Mojo, regarding 2 upcoming Dreamworks/Fox films:

"Mr. Peabody & Sherman" has been moved from Nov. 1, 2013 to Mar. 7, 2014. While "Me & my Shadow" which was suppose to come out Mar. 7, 2014 now has no new release date.

Could this be cause of Guardians boxoffice failure? Frozen will be the only major animated film this holiday season.

It's a combination of Rise failing and Fox trying to figure out how to juggle two power house animation studios. They now have to create a schedule where Blue Sky and DWA aren't competing with each other, which will negatively impact both studios.

I kind of saw this coming for Dreamworks. I think they would have been much better off with Warner Bros. I don't understand why they'd strike a deal with a studio that's distributing successful animated blockbusters already. Ice Age is huge.

According to The Animation Guild Blog, 'Me & My Shadow' is going back into production for retooling or something. It's in limbo right now.

Frozen has no big animated competition, so that's good.

It's still just speculation at the moment. A lot can change in the intervening period, not sure if the project has even been officially greenlighted yet.

I think it will. I looks like the old Disney formula, plus it's Musker/Clements. Lassenter would be stupid to reject them.

And yes, please have Menken to do the music!

Are you freaking kidding me? You call that blurb an article? Where's the new concept art?

The article from the newest D23 Mag, Frozen in Time. Under it was the concept art of Anna and Kristoff we got earlier this year. (Yes, that’s it.)

That's why wasting your money on shit ass magazine like D23 is fucking useless and pointless. They have nothing new or valuable information to contribute.

Are you serious, Disney? You are actually that CHEAP? :x :x :x :( :( Really, we hardly have anything right now! By now in 2010, that leaked trailer of Tangled came out. Last year, we had a lot of concept art of WIR. And what do we have now 4 Frozen? Nothing! This better be the best Disney movie ever if they're hiding too much away from us.

This may be Disney's response to the leaked images last week. Anyone's guess when any new concept art will be officially released. Imagine if those posters didn't get leaked last we & THIS is all we got! What the hell are they trying to hide? This film is really trying alot of people's patience!
