Please, no more music videos!
I know, I know, I don't have to watch them, but even knowing they're on the disc gives me the creeps sometimes.

I just got the latest issue of "VB" magazine, and it looks as if the cover art has changed. I don't have a scanner, and it's a small picture anyway, but Bagheera is on the top left corner, smallish; Baloo is on the top right, larger than Bagheera, the logo is in the middle, Shere Khan and Kaa are on the bottom left, Mowgli is on the bottom center, and he's dancing with King Louie, on the bottom right. No random monkeys are to be found.

Thanks for the info Amy, really appericate it. Guess you and I were right bout Baggy appearing on the front, is he in his trademark pose? (unsasitfied by the events) or just smiling? hopefully you can scan it sometime whenever you get a scanner or you can take a pic of it with digi camera. Again thanks for shairng this info. what does VB stand for? and do they have a website?

Thanks for the heads up, but I don't like the sound of that composition at all. Disney's Platinums always have the main character as the largest (well, except Aladdin). Having Mowgli small and on the bottom implies that Bagheera and Baloo are the main characters. I think they should switch Mowgli and Bagheera since the film is about Mowgli and Baloo's relationship. Then again, I haven't seen the revised cover. Maybe it actually looks great the way it is.

So, which fascist dictator's hairstyle do we think they've given Bagheera then?

I'll go for Mussolini. ;)

Anyway it does seem odd that old Baggy would be made so prominent, although he is a major player, potentially even more so than Baloo.

I took (bad) digital pictures [my camera's practically dead & I have no spare batteries]...here are the links:

I didn't mean to make it sound like Bagheera was featured more prominantly on the cover than Mowgli- Mowgli is bigger than Bagheera, and is front and center (well, below the title).

I didn't really dislike the first cover as much as most people here, but this one is definitely better. Thanks for the pics!

That's interesting...I need to see it more lcearly to know my thoughts on it, but OOC, can you see who's on the spine of the DVD? Is it Mowgli? I hope it is...

Talk about total revamp, this might be the 1st time Disney wnet with a total different design, all the others had big heads or poster like cover. I like it way much then the current one, thanks Amy. Let's hope UD posts it on the front page.

Well, I stand corrected. I didn't like the sound of the composition at first, but now that I've (mostly) seen it, I actually like it better than the first draft. Mowgli's more prominent than I imagined he'd be. I find it interesting that the cover was overhauled so drastically. Once Disney gives us a rough draft of a cover, the character positions usually stay the same and are merely tweaked in terms of details. I don't think we've gotten a Platinum cover where the original layout was completely trashed.

Thanks for the pics, blackcauldron85. I like the new cover art WAY better, even though it's hard to make everything out.

Wow, the Jungle Book cover sure did get major revamping. The pictures are kinda fuzzy so it is hard to make everything out, but from what I can tell I think it looks pretty good. I am glad Bagherra has been added, it seemed a bit odd that he wasn't on the other draft. Hopefully soon UD will recieve a clear picture so we can all tell just how good it does (or doesn't) look.

By the way, has Baloo's fascist hairstyle been eliminated? LOL.

It's Baloo. But, that could always change.

Even in the magazine, the picture is small and hard to make out, but Baloo definitely has some kind of hairstyle...I think he's facing the opposite way from the initial draft (I could be wrong), so it may look different, but it very well could be the same hairstyle...it's just hard to tell from the picture.

Well as small and unclear as that *new* pic is, I have to say I prefer the older cover, even if it does feature a reincarnation of Hitler.

Hmm... It's an improvement from the last one, but I think it could be better.
