And look how differently they are shaped...not that this would signify anything anyway. I could easily say to look at the Sleeping Beauty trailer on the film's DVD. They use the Castle from the film in place of the traditional blue castle, because it's Sleeping Beauty's.

In Tokyo Disneyland, I remember them referring to the castle as Cinderella's. Are the two castles different in the parks or did I not remember correctly?

Oh, and I actually like the new Disney themed logos. However, I prefer the original one because...well, it's classic!

the disneyland castle doesnt look anything like Cinderella's, Snow White's or Sleeping Beauty's

honestly why are we arguing what castle it is: it's a castle representing all the fairy tales that Disney is famous for telling

No arguing. Just simply stating the fact that I like that the Castle in the opening logo is the Castle found at Disneyland which is named after Sleeping Beauty. There is really no room for argument on that, Disney has stated the fact themselves.

Cinderella Castle is at Tokyo Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, those are the tall 200 foot ones. The Castle found in the Walt Disney Pictures opening logo is the Sleeping Beauty Castle that is at Disneyland and now also in Hong Kong Disneyland, those are the small 77 foot ones.

I really enjoy the customized opening logos. I really like the one for Fantasia 2000. You think you're just getting the same old thing, and then FLASH!!! You're in space, watching the stage assemble itself. Tarzan's is also really cool.

As long as I own one Disney DVD with the old blue logo, I'll be satisfied.

So the two castles are different? Weird! Tokyo Disneyland is pretty much exactly the same as the one in California except that most of the rides are in Japanese, there's a glass ceiling over Main Street, and it's way cleaner. I did not know that the castles were different. :o Oy, I'm lame.

Well, I haven't been to the one in California for a while. I'll have to go again and check it out.

I used to sing with the logo, I love it. When I see it, I remember my first memory: Seeing 'The Lion King' in the theater for my 5th Bday.

These screen caps are from Cinderella 2 and they show the Disney logo morphing into Cinderella's castle. Even though the proportions are not identical, i think it is safe to say that the logo is supposed to be Cinderella's castle.

ARE You frustrated or WHAT?
Disney OFFICIAL sources claims that the logo comes from the original Sleeping Beauty Castle built in the Disneyland Park of the Anaheim resort! As for the Buena Vista logo!.... no need to debate longer.....

Calm Down, I was just pointing out that the castle in the logo is the same shape as The castle in Cinderella! Now would they deliberately morph the logo into cinderella's castle if they weren't the same castle?

And we all know how reliable 'Disney OFFICIAL Sources' are!

Calm down everyone! Does it really matter? It's just A castle, get over it! :P

PS: That castle from Cinderella 2 isn't the real Cinderella castle IMO, I think they edited the Cinderella castle to make it look good on the fade...

It most certainly is Princess Aurora's castle. Here is a picture of the real Cinderella's castle:

Ah, I was looking for that all over the net! :D Well, now it proves that the castle is the Sleeping Beauty castle! But I think it's awful that they changed Cinderella's castle in the sequel!

I don't think she realises that most people here won't understand that!

And i would just like to make it clear i was not saying it was Cinderella's castle, i was simply pointing out that they are the same shape, that is all!

But it's not the same. The picture Joe posted has a turret on the left higher than it's immediate neighbour to the right. That's not on the logo. All in all Joe's picture has a lot more major turrents.

I like the creative logos, they're awesome. Hope I'm not overdoing it with the pictures. I do miss the little tune that used to be there

At first I thought it was weird that they changed the Disney logo but then later I realized that Disney is only changing the logo to do something different not the same old lame logo.

Can you post the PIXAR version? The PIXAR rendition of it makes it more obvious.
