Douglas - thats what I keep hoping for. They do have one of the two Ray does not have access to in their library. I keep hoping. Ray believes that his release is going to force a Disney release, as happened with Alice. So he is in a bit of a catch 22. If he does not release it then nobody will, if he does Disney releases it and he ends up with low sales.

Wow Escapay that a lot of great info there. When I eventually purchase the Alice cartoons, I definitely look at your post here to see what is available and what isn't. Thanks for posting the info here, and credit should go to Mr. Toad too, for meaning to post here and sharing that info about Ray and the Laugh o Grams.

He has 5 of the 7 laughograms(six still exist but he could not get access to the last one in a museum)

Does the seven include the Newman Laugh-O-gram Sample Reel, or is this a reference to the putative seventh Laugh-O-gram fairytale that has been alleged to have been made?

And do we know which is the one Ray couldn't get his hands on? I've seen reference to there being one, but I've not seen the title confirmed anywhere.

(Thinks to self - must really get around to buying the Laugh-O-grams disc soon)

Thanks, but I'm not all that versed in the Alice cartoons, and only did a little bit of research to see what would currently be available in the R1 market.

Thanks for the info about the Japanese DVD! I found a listing of what shorts are on that disc, thanks to dvdaficionado, as everytime I tried to look online, my sources came up in Japanese! I'll update my original post with this DVD as well.

No I was counting Tommy Tucker's Tooth as the seventh laugh o gram which Ray included and bcdb among others count it as one.

Jack and the Beanstalk is the one that is known to exist in a couple of places. One is a museum and I believe the other copy is either in the Universal or Disney archives. No known copies of Goldie Locks and the 3 Bears exist although I believe Jim Hill at one point said one did it has never been substantiated where it is.

If there is a copy of Jack And The Beanstalk at Disney (or Universal), it must have ended up there after the discovery elsewhere, as it's not listed in Merritt & Kaufman. It's just a shame Ray Pointer couldn't include it in his Laugh-O-grams set.

Hmmmm... I wonder if Disney will be doing any Laugh-O-Gram or Alice Comedy DVDs as part of their new Legacy line?

It would be nice, wouldn't it. Given that the Oswalds are coming out in the Legacy line shortly, and there's a few Alices on the Disney Rarities Treasure, there's just enough silents left over to really neatly fill out a two-disc set.
