The movie would just look really blurry without the glasses, which could be a problem.

I thought it'd be Aladdin. But OMG! The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney movies of ALL TIME! I'm so freaking excited!

Unfortunately, no. Two different images are combined together on the screen, one slightly different for each eye, and trying to look at them without the glasses is doubled and blurry, something like this:

i have a feeling new zealand already had 3d BATB, but the nearest cinema that screened it was a good days drive away from me, so i hope it gets a nationwide release this time. will go and see them all, totally cant wait!

I'm psyched but surprised about TLM's inclusion, for the reasons enigmawing already mentioned.

Why all the excitement over these films. They were never originally shot in 3-D and will probably be like "The Lion King" and just be immersive. I won't pay the rental on the glasses for any of these. I will go watch the original 2-D version and enjoy it just as much as you will in 3-D and I will save money!!!

Wowza, Disney definitely opened the flood gates on this one! SUPER excited, as with Lion King, I am just so happy to see these fantastic movies back on the big screen, no matter how many dimensions.

For those vehemently anti-3D people, Disney will likely include a 2D showing during the first two weeks of the re-releases. For The Lion King re-release, most theater chains (like Carmike and AMC) were required to have the 2D show as the first show of the day, and then the shows afterward are in 3D.

So don't fret yet.

Umm, didn't you just answer your question? The immersion is the entire appeal of 3D. I like how 3D acts as a way to removes that barrier between the movie and the audience, so I don't feel like Im just watching a projected image on a flat surface.

Other than that....well there were some scenes I liked....Be Prepared was great, or basically all the musical numbers were the best in 3D. But I mainly went to see it to be on the big screen, though I asked my fiance about seeing it in 2D in and she said that we can do that at home

my thoughts exactly. i missed all the pixar films between bugs life and ratatouille, so looking forward to finally seeing them properly, even if it is 2 years away. lol.

Well dvdjunkie, don't try to ruin for us how we want to spend money to enjoy a little something extra that we like. And you can at least see the films in 2D on the super big screen also if you want.

Thank goodness, I wasn't sure if it was only available in 3-D or not...

My local Cinemark theatre had the 2d option during the entire run of 3d, which ends Thursday.

I remember seeing Nemo in the theatre (will never forget crying like a baby during the opening segment), but I didn't catch the others. Let the wait begin.

Oh well hopefully theaters near you have the 2D options with the 3D ones.

I'm happy that they are releasing "Beauty and the Beast" in 3D. I don't have a 3DTV, and I've heard that the "Beauty" 3D transfer is better than "The Lion King"'s 3D transfer.

I'm SO excited! I never got to see any of them in theaters, so this is finally my chance!

The theaters in my city offer both 2D and 3D, so if you're so against it in 3D, then see the 2D option.
