I think they believe if certain DVD sets won't make them X amount of profits, then they just won't release them, because they don't think it is worth their time. I highly doubt something like DuckTales would lose them money. It only has one release to go, yet they won't release it. They don't care about the fans of the show, because they know that people will keep continuing buying their product. They don't reward fan loyalty to their brand. Right now, I'd even take these Disney Afternoon sets as a Disney Rewards or DVD on Demand. Heck, they put zero effort into releasing these shows (no special features or remastering) which probably didn't help any, so it wouldn't be much different.

Well, I think that's what happened with Gargoyles - Part 1 of season 2 came out back in 2005, and it was quite expensive (like $35 for 3 discs... I've gotten 4 or more disc seasons for $20 and less)... and I think not many people bought it.

So they just decided not to release the second half. Though, those were pretty good discs, with Greg Weisman's intro on each episode and some commentaries...

But I agree with you - I think they'd make money by releasing any of their old shows. As those were the ones actually worth watching! All the teenage girls can buy Hannah Montana seasons now, but in the long run, I'm thinking DuckTales and all those other shows would have done just as well.

I would love to see the rest of DuckTales, plus 5 Mile Creek. All of ours are on old VHS that we taped off TV years ago or bought when a videotape was in stores.
