It looks like an action/adventure and not a comedy, with the exception of the last line, which wasn't even funny. I was so excited for this movie because I think the show is really funny, but it looks too far removed from the series. I had faith because I thought The Even Stevens Movie and The Famous Jett Jackson: The Movie were both well done, but I guess I'll hold final judgment until August.

I accidently forgot that W.O.W.P's trailer was premiring this week *err* oh well can't win 'em all..... I was alil impressed with the cinematography, kinda reminds of Jett Jackson: The Movie's cinematography. It kinda has a big screen feeling to it (even though it won't go to the silver screen)
As for plot: the Russo family take avacation to the Caribbean resort where Jerry and Theresa first met.
Alex is upset that she must accompany her family on the trip and ultimately conjures a spell that reverses her parents' fateful first meeting and puts the Russo familys very existence in question.
To cancel the spell, Alex, Max, and Justin must set out through the jungle to find the all-powerful "Stone of Dreams". Meanwhile, Max scrambles to make his parents fall in love again.
As Alex and Justin are searching for the stone Justin disappears because he is the first child and Max and Alex must prove that they can save their family on their own.

So maybe you guys know Princess Protection Program had a premier last night in Toronto. I would have waited outside to see if I could have seen Selena or Demi but it was my sisters grade 8 grad sooo yea 
. But then I find out that my brother (whos a chief at this fancy hotel) is cooking 4 the after party. I asked him to get me in but he said he wouldn't be able to once again . I just thought it was interesting though, that he was cooking 4 Selena and Demi.

I liked Princess Protection Program. I'll get the official DVD soon, but not on Tuesday.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Here's my review on Princess Protection Program. It's in white - just in case - because I don't want to spoil anyone.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie. However, I believe that the movie did not use all of it's potential. I understand the movie was meant for a tween audience, and I'm 23, but there were a few instances where I was like "okay -- come on." The first being the beginning when Rosie was being crowned queen. The whole scene of the general trying to stop Rosie becoming queen and Mason saving her out of nowhere ("I thought something like this would happen!") was just too out there for me, and I was worried about the rest of the movie after seeing this scene. I feel a better way would have been if they just started the movie with Mason saving her and then explaining it later.
I just feel like the Disney Channel doesn't portray "the bad guy" very well. No one actually talks or acts like that. I mean, I feel like tweens at least can tell when a character is bad and they don't need it THAT spelled out for them.
Also the fact that there was an actual "Princess Protection Program" was kinda upsetting to me. An organization that protects princesses? Come on, give me a break. I just thought it was a cute title before, and that it was just referring to hiding the princess in their home. I thought the movie could have done with out that.
Once they got Rosie to the Mason house did the movie start to pick up for me. I LOVED Carter's reaction to Rosie, and I thought the relationship between them was very believable. Carter was jealous, but still tried to be nice even though she didn't want to. And Rosie was hilarious -- I thought she played the fish-out-of-water part very well, without going too over the top.
But again, I'm disappointed with the portrayal of the "evil" characters. When Brooke walked into the library to get information on "Spanish stuff" I totally new the rest of the plot from there. When she asked the librarian for the Spanish materials, I turned to my friend and said "She's going to come across a document that says Rosie is really the queen." And sure enough that's what happened. How did I see this coming? THERE WAS NOTHING LEADING UP TO A SPANISH REPORT! The scene comes out of nowhere. Most of them were in French class before. They should have done Spanish and have the teacher mention there was going to be a report. Then maybe it wouldn't be so obvious.
And then... well, okay, I'll admit I wasn't obsessed with homecoming or was really friends with anyone that was, but could someone actually be that mean to expose the identity of someone in mortal danger in order to win homecoming? Maybe I just have good faith in people, but I thought that stake was just waaay too high.
Ok back to the good stuff. I enjoyed the transformation of Carter and Rosie's relationship. And that was totally sweet that Carter sacrificed herself for Rosie.
I could get into how the end wasn't realistic either, but it didn't bother me as much as the beginning. Maybe I just accepted that evil wasn't going to be done well throughout the movie.

I'm guessing some of you will say "It's just a kid's movie. So what?" This comment really bothers me. Are you saying that kids don't deserve a well written movie? Because I think they do. I hate it when writers are careless when it "doesn't matter because it's for kids."

I have remained quiet about Princess Protection Program, mainly because I didn't get to see it until last night due to a glitch in our DVR that prevented us from watching it. For a non-music based DCOM, I think this is one of the best they've done and I'm not surprised that it had 8.5 million viewers during its premier, making it the third highest rated DCOM behind HSM2 and Camp Rock.
I got the Royal B.F.F. Extended Edition today and thought I should let you know that the "extended" part is less than a minute long, but it shows you what happens a year from now. I won't say much, but it basically opens it up for a sequel, or even a series of films. Judging by how well it did, I wouldn't be surprised if both Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato went straight to work on it after both of their series' wrap production next Spring.

I like Jennifer Stone, so I'm glad that she'll be the lead in something. The only exposure I've ever had to Harriet the Spy was the Michelle Trachtenberg movie, so it'll be good to see another version of it!
