Both together add up to less than 2 hours of movie, so there shouldn't be any problems. Of course there won't be any good bonus features will there. Not if its only one disc that costs $15.

Apparently Disney HATES Hunchback and Hercules fans and wants them all to suffer!

lighthousemike posted proof this is coming out in the Aristocats thread:

Check out the scan from the insert.

I just checked the official Disney DVD site and there's no mention yet that this is coming out.

It's just a gut feeling, but I doubt these will be different versions (uncut, I mean) from the already released ones. Have any single-disc double-feature rereleases ever been improvements over the previous releases?

I can't believe no one ask if Saludos Amigos/The Three Caballeros 2-Disc set will have a slipcover... :P
Come on we knew it was going to happen since both films became OOP.
Only time would tell when they will be re-released.
Now we know that Disney is planning some kind of Special Edition for both The Sword in the Stone and Alice in Wonderland.
Too bad for both Hunchback and Hercules since both films wer great...Hunchback made more money then Hercules...:D

Has anyone else noticed how ignorant this release kind of is. I mean they are releasing it for Cinco de Mayo, which is a Mexican holiday. These films focus on a whole lot more than just Mexico... I dunno, it just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Also the whole 2 movies on one disc REALLY bothers me.

I really hate the whole gold collection thing, but i'm not sure if this really is going to make me wanna upgrade, since it's not an upgrade at all.

So will this release at least have the extras that were on the gold discs? I think there were a couple ported over from the LD. What they should just do is have the 2 films on disc 1 and port the complete LD to disc 2. Duh!

Along with the lascerdisc extras, this should have "Clown of the Jungle" "Blame it on the Samba" and "The Pelican and the Snipe" but I doubt it will.

I need these 2 movies for my collection, so I'll be picking it up but hopefully there will be some decent special features...

Not happy at all.

I hate 2 movie on 1 disc releases. I'll be keeping my GC Caballeros and searching for the GC SA. Even if this set is unedited, I'd rather have the stand alone copies.

I'm just hoping having SA readily available again will drop the price people are asking for it on ebay/other sites. But if enough people feel the same way as me I sadly don't see that happening.

Ditto. This was a lame move. Granted, I never really cared to buy either movie to begin with (well, maybe "The Three Caballeros" someday, since I really liked it as a kid, but it's not high on my list), but slapping them both on one disc with (I'm fairly sure) no decent new special features really cheapens the movies.

I see nothing wrong with combining both films onto 1 DVD. There shouldn't be any problem with artifacts because of length and they were pretty much made as 1 film. They were just released with the segments that were finished as they were done to generate money for Disney in the lean war years. I've always had a hard time seeing wy Saludos Amigos is considered to be a feature and there are featurettes almost as long that are not.

If we got a bonus disc with the other shorts for the planned 3rd film and all the extras from the LD I doubt anyone would complain. It would make the most sense in releasing them that way as neither film would do well on it's own as a 2 disc edition. Nor are 2 discs required for films so short.

Yeah, if there's a second disc of bonus material, which I sincerely doubt, given Disney's near total abandonment of the second disc, I would not complain. But I doubt that there will be. As such... it's lame.

Do we know if it's just a 1 disc?

Not for sure, but Disney pretty much only does two discs for Platinum anymore. If it's two discs at all, I would expect it maybe to literally be both original "Saludos" and "Caballeros" discs rehashed with new disc art... maybe.

Yeah, it's definitely only going to be one disc. It would say if it were going to be two, but this certainly does not merit a 2-disc release.

Why doesn't it merit a 2 disc release? The LD set is one of the most sought after among fans.

Well, for one, it's a fairly unknown Disney movie. There's no reason for Disney to go through the trouble of adding more bonus features when it's not really going to affect their overall sales figures too much (come on, how many people here are going to buy it regardless?).

Obviously, Disney's not trying to please hard-core fans anymore. They pretty much stopped trying a long ways back.

I would also argue amongst Disney fans that this title isn't that big a deal. For the most part, the people who buy this will be the hard-core fans who want the complete sets (read: Reyquila).
