Hmm. Is everyone planning on having their discs replaced? I'm not thrilled with the idea of sending my discs away in the mail. I've never done it before, and my Disney Treasures are precious to me. What is the reason they are being replaced, and is it that significant of a reason?
I'm also not very fond of the idea of sending my scratch free dvd to them and then recieving a scratched one with finger prints ( I imagine they carelessly insert the dvd in a paper sleeve and touch the bottom with their oily greasy hands). I've also never sent anything back to get replaced.

Oh, god! Forget it! I can't do this! As it is, my DVD Player doesn't play half of my scratch free DVDs!

What? Don't you know how to clean your DVD's. Fingerprints don't make a disc skip anyway. I would rather have fingerprints on a disc and it work correctly, then I can clean it up, than have a pristeen disc that skips or has a problem that I can't correct.
Laziness.............pure laziness!!!
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!

Let's not jump to conclusions and labeling. I've gone through the DVD cleaning hoohaa, and it just makes discs play worse if you have a sensitive player. From the first time you use disc repair stuff and disc cloths on your discs, you get streaks that never go away, no matter how closely you follow the instructions. It might not be a problem with most players, but the really sensitive ones are... really sensitive.
I do know how to clean dvd's, I'm not supid. And cleaning then in some instinces does cause them to play worse ( such as my Snow White). I'm not lazy either .
Yeah, dvdjunkie, name calling really wasn't necessary while giving advice. You have good ideas but really need to learn how to word your words so you aren't hurting anyone's feelings. How do you know that person is lazy or not? You have no CLUE because you do not know them personally so why judge something like that?
You guys *do* remember that Bill said he got out of the hospital and was gonna be cranky for a couple days, right? That anything that sounds harsh is just him venting out of his own frustrations and he doesn't mean anything by it?
Still, I don't think that replacement discs would actually have fingerprints on them. Disney Customer Service is actually better than most others, so I highly doubt someone would purposely handle a disc the wrong way when placing it in the paper sleeve.

I don't know. I bought one of those expensive autographs from Disney World once, but I had to take it apart to clean the glass because it had a fingerprint on the inside.

There was a front page update on the subject last week. Whether the replacements are significant or not is a judgment call. I certainly doubt that the "major glitch" dramatically referred to in this thread's start is going to be addressed at all.

here is a link to another webiste and if you put the cursor over more silly symphonies it will give information about disc replacement although it doesn't seem to be for the reason mentioned in this thread
The Disney Treasures site discusses the omitted recreated titles, but does not mention the wrong masters* used on a few cartoons and the "lost' footage* found for The Night Before Christmas.
I would presume all will be corrected on the replacement discs.
The few masters and "lost" footage will not be as noticeable and there's no sense in Disney airing too much dirty laundry needlessly.
*All excellent info first posted on this site (on 1/31/07) on the front page.

I had my Back To The Future discs replaced a couple years back due to framing problems. When I received them two weeks later, they were sent in clear, shrinkwrapped jewel cases. I very much doubt anyone is going to touch them outside of the factory.

What did you send the originals in? Did they reimburse you for sending yours back? They really should. I know it's not much, but still, it's their mistake...
