I'm sorry Mickey Mouse. I've only ever seen the "Classic Disney Exclusives" page. Never the "Walt Disney Records 50th Anniversary" page. However, if somebody else knows the URL, I am also interested. I just search either by album title or artist for the records I want to buy. I have listed all of them on here with prices, release year, and track listings.

Thanks, goofy...the "Classic" page doesn't have the Rex Allen offering or the "Summer Magic" album listed...it was nice when these all first came out to have them in one place. The only one that was never listed there was the Black Cauldron soundtrack. When that was released it was touted as being the first time consumers were able to own the album at all in any format, though that has been disputed now.
iTunes Walt Disney Records / Buena Vista releases?
Hey...
I'm just wondering if anyone here knows the release schedule for Disney's audio releases on iTunes? They have been putting some pretty rare stuff on there for us to download. However, it seems there hasn't been anything new for a few months.
I know that the Disney parks used to have a system called CD On-Demand where you could go and burn out-of-print and rare titles. I know they had sooo many to choose from. However, they have discontinued that sevice, which is unfortunate.
It seems that iTunes is releasing those same titles on their service. They have the soundtracks for Babes in Toyland, Summer Magic, The Black Cauldron, The Black Hole, and more; and other recordings for Alice in Wonderland, Mickey Mouse Club, Ludwig Von Drake; and personalities such as Annette Funicello, Fess Parker, and Mary Martin. There are a lot more that I can't think of right now.
There are so many more titles that were available on the CD On-Demand service, such as the soundtrack to The Parent Trap and many more.
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this? Will Disney continue to release these recordings on iTunes??? Anyone have a release date list???

"True CD quality sound" is 16-bits & 44.1 kHz.TM2-Megatron wrote:Yes, I suppose you could do that, but it still wouldn't help with the lack of true CD-quality sound. There's also the fact that many people like to have an actual, official CD with liner notes, etc. instead of some insubstational computer bytes on a CD-R.

A couple years ago I managed to get 2 of the out-of-print Disneyland Record titles that were being offered by the CD-On-Demand program at Disneyland. They weren't "official CDs" with liner notes (the original LP artwork, front and back, was reproduced in color using a color laser printer), and the audio quality was very good (both stated on the disc that they had been "newly remastered, although neither stated how or gave any details on the remastering). I suspect that given the nature of the CD-On-Demand program, the discs I purchased were not encoded using a lossless codec. However, the audio quality is more than sufficient given the fact that both recordings were made about 50 years ago, when analog stereo recording technology was still in its infancy.
So for 50 year old analog recordings (which were not recorded at 1411.2 kbps, as standard CDs are recorded today), is full lossless audio necessary? Not really, because there are already inherent limitations in the dynamic range of the source material. Even the top end of lossy compression for mp3s, 320kbps, should be more than sufficient for a 50 year old analog recording, even one that's been remastered.
This is great news.. Unfortunately none of these titles are available in the Australian I Tunes store..
When I went to Disneyland last year I was looking for the CD on demand kiosk..they told me to download from itunes..regrettably these titles are only available in the U.S. itunes store...
Im been trying to get hold of the Summer Magic soundtrack for years...
I hope Disney offers an avenue whereby these titles can be offered outside the U.S.

hey tj77 thanks I sent you an email.
Im inclined to think that the older vintage albums will never see the light of day outside of the U.S. itunes store..there simply isnt the demand. However I do applaud Disney for at least digging into their vaults to make this material available once more.
I recall when I was young the Disneyland label LP's were very popular here so maybe the nostalgia factor will make them more internationally available I certainly hope so. Id love to see the old soundtracks to subjects like Scandelous John and other Disney rarities.

I have so many LP's that had the Disneyland name on the label. I have "Hi-Ho" and "A Musical Love Story" by Mary Martin on vinyl along with Tutti Camarata LP's "Spring" and "Tutti's Trumpets" on a different label, Time Records. "Tutti's Trumpets" was the only LP that does not have the Disneyland name on the label. It was originally released on Disneyland back in the late 50's but it was reissued on the Time label in the "Series 2000" brand.
More releases on iTunes-June 19th!
Ok, so I just figured out there were some more vintage Disney recordings released on iTunes on June 19th. I only found two, "The Parent Trap" and "Walt Disney World Band." I'm assuming there is more, but I can't figure out how to find them. If anyone knows, please let me know!
