First off, let me just say that Rob, your posts should have spoiler alerts on them. Just saying. Some people are sensitive.
:p

But:

:pink::pink::pink: for more details! I love it. I love Rapunzel, the character, so much right now, just from that little blurb. <3

Link please? I Googled his website but can't find that post...

robster16 wrote:I was surprised to see the movie open with a prologue that reffers to some of the classic Disney opening sequences, complete with a narrator and everything. It reminded me of Beauty and the Beast and I'm sure that the final version will be splendid.
:faint:

I LOVE the picture posted to Facebook. LOVE it.

If Glen Keane is happy, then I am happy. I'm glad that he seems to be happy with the film. I would LOVE to read (or conduct :p) an interview with him where he can be totally honest about his thoughts on the whole production.

Only 3 AFAIK, and the one in France showed only 20 minutes. Par for the course for animation, from what I understand.

I think this is the first time this plot point has been revealed? I know it's the first I've heard of it, because that one piece of concept art has always intrigued me. Very excited to see this particular scene in the movie.
As well you should be. Even in rough animation, the lanterns in the sky were breathtaking.

Yep, looks like the officially approved spoilers are starting to come out. Nothing major here, though. It's all setup to the main story. If you consider this a spoiler to be avoided, better go ahead and turn off your computer now.

I have no inside info, but I betcha we have another trailer - a more accurate one - gonna drop any second.

The new art we've seen certainly is gorgeous.

I said this is the farthest they have strayed. If you stray farther and farther, well, you know it won't look like the original story at all any more if that happens.

No, Pinocchio wasn't a fairy tale either. It was written in 1883. A flapper with a bit part doesn't qualify.
The Grimm's didn't call their original "household tales" fairy tales either. I would call the original Pinocchio a fairy tale. Anyway, the way Disney did Pinocchio was like a fairy tale and it's become one now.
Disney Duster wrote:Why do we love Disney and not any other studio?
It must be ignorance of what else is out there.[/quote]
I should have specified - what makes Disney a different studio and not just any studio? I don't deny that other studios can be just as good as them, it's about what can they do that is, if not better, different, that only they can do (though they usually do do better than most others, too, they're just in the top quality).

Amy, they aren't really calling her dirtface. It really more like a way of saying "Cinder girl". The "ella" is just a feminine ending. Remember, the one sister called her Cinderwench, the nicer sister called her Cinderella, a much nicer name. And in the Disney version she may even have been born with this name, because "cinder girl" is kind of nice when you think about how it's the remnants of burning wood combined with a girl.

The lantern in the sky(or water?) reminds me of the pokemon episode, Ghost of Maiden Peak. Which in turn is based on a Japanese summer festival event where they put lantern on small boats to symbolize the dead passing on.

The concept art of the lantern clearly reminds me of this.

Dear Disney peoples ...

Since you've decided to go and spoil the cute throwaway joke about the name of the tavern, how about going whole hog and giving us a preview of the production number that takes place inside? I predict there will be rejoicing in the streets if you do, and it won't even scare off the boys.

Well, it isn't a very good picture of most of the girls, including her.

That's what I thought, too. It's a much prettier dress than the usual pink one.

I also noticed that Aurora's wearing blue instead of pink, Jasmine's outfit is purple rather than the customary blue, and Cinderella's dress is less blue than usual.

I need to get a life.

I believe that picture was made on Disney Princess Fanpop, which has fas who much prefer seeing the princesses the way they looked in the films. Cinderella's dress should be silver and not just lighter blue, though. Her and Aurora's hair have been made much more accurate, though.

stitchkingdom's twitter:

* Showing various concept art including Rapunzel having a staredown with Maximus #sdcc
* Animators inspired by Ariel. She's a 'real person, girl next door' and relatable #sdcc #tangled
* Flynn was created to balance Rapunzel. Street smarts vs book smarts #tangled #sdcc
* Flynn is a charming individual who can have his way with anyone -- until now #tangled #sdcc
* Glen keane is showing an old storyboarded pitch for the scene where Rapunzel ties Flynn to the chair as in the trailer #tangled #sdcc
* Very funny drawings of Flynn's reaction to seeing Rapunzel for the first time (and Pascal's response to Flynn as well) #sdcc #tangled
* Showing concept art for Flynn Rider. Original by Keane very Gaston-like. #tangled #sdcc
* Another concept art for Flynn is almost a spitting image of Aladdin's profile #tangled #sdcc
* Animators used input from female staffers as to how Flynn should look in the 'hot man game' #tangled #sdcc
* Flynn's final design gets applause -- 'stay in your seats, ladies, it's just a drawing -- don't get excited' #tangled #sdcc
* Even though #Tangled is CG, they relied heavily on draftsmanship. Lots of reference drawings for Flynn #sdcc
* #Tangled was initially pitched to Eisner who insisted it would be CG despite Keane's concerns about translating the art #sdcc
* Showing clips of Keane's exaggerated facial expressions while animating #tangled #sdcc
* Animators talking about dailies being a 'very honest room' and how it 'turns a B+ into an A+' #tangled #sdcc
* Showing progressions of scene where Flynn is initially captured and whipped by Rapunzel's hair #tangled #sdcc
* Keane talking about improving animation by including 'golden shots' taught by 9 old men to draw audiences in #tangled #sdcc
* Showing a #sdcc exclusive scene from #Tangled. Basically the scene they've been describing all along
* Gift from #tangled #sdcc panel is a linked edition signed and numbered print from the film. I have to go pick it up later.

The snuggly duckling?

Sounds toocute.

there could've been other references-the cursed spindle, the poisoned apple(taken), the sinister snailshell. granted those are all villainous, but they're much more tavern-like than Snuggly Duckling.
