First off, let me just say that Rob, your posts should have spoiler alerts on them. Just saying. Some people are sensitive.

But:
:pink::pink: for more details! I love it. I love Rapunzel, the character, so much right now, just from that little blurb. <3

I LOVE the picture posted to Facebook. LOVE it.
If Glen Keane is happy, then I am happy. I'm glad that he seems to be happy with the film. I would LOVE to read (or conduct
) an interview with him where he can be totally honest about his thoughts on the whole production.
But:
Link please? I Googled his website but can't find that post...kurtadisneyite wrote:John Kricfalusi, key talent behind MIGHTY MOUSE THE NEW ADVENTURES, and creator of REN & STIMPY, had a post about TANGLED on his web site, which ended up with more responses than anything else he's had there for a long time.
:faint:robster16 wrote:I was surprised to see the movie open with a prologue that reffers to some of the classic Disney opening sequences, complete with a narrator and everything. It reminded me of Beauty and the Beast and I'm sure that the final version will be splendid.

Only 3 AFAIK, and the one in France showed only 20 minutes. Par for the course for animation, from what I understand.atlanticaunderthesea wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but am I right in thinking that Tangled has had more test / preview screenings than any other movie of recent times ? Or do all films have as many, just Tangled's information has leaked more so than other films ?
As well you should be. Even in rough animation, the lanterns in the sky were breathtaking.UmbrellaFish wrote:I think this is the first time this plot point has been revealed? I know it's the first I've heard of it, because that one piece of concept art has always intrigued me. Very excited to see this particular scene in the movie. In exchange for the stolen goods he brought with him and she took from him, Rapunzel demands Flynn to take her outside the tower to see the mysterious lanterns which populate the sky on the evening of her birthday.
Yep, looks like the officially approved spoilers are starting to come out. Nothing major here, though. It's all setup to the main story. If you consider this a spoiler to be avoided, better go ahead and turn off your computer now.
I have no inside info, but I betcha we have another trailer - a more accurate one - gonna drop any second.

The new art we've seen certainly is gorgeous.
I should have specified - what makes Disney a different studio and not just any studio? I don't deny that other studios can be just as good as them, it's about what can they do that is, if not better, different, that only they can do (though they usually do do better than most others, too, they're just in the top quality).
I said this is the farthest they have strayed. If you stray farther and farther, well, you know it won't look like the original story at all any more if that happens.Goliath wrote:No, they didn't stray far...
The Grimm's didn't call their original "household tales" fairy tales either. I would call the original Pinocchio a fairy tale. Anyway, the way Disney did Pinocchio was like a fairy tale and it's become one now.mawnck wrote:No, Pinocchio wasn't a fairy tale either. It was written in 1883. A flapper with a bit part doesn't qualify.Disney Duster wrote:The others aren't fairy tales or fairy tale films except Pinocchio
It must be ignorance of what else is out there.[/quote]Disney Duster wrote:Why do we love Disney and not any other studio?

Amy, they aren't really calling her dirtface. It really more like a way of saying "Cinder girl". The "ella" is just a feminine ending. Remember, the one sister called her Cinderwench, the nicer sister called her Cinderella, a much nicer name. And in the Disney version she may even have been born with this name, because "cinder girl" is kind of nice when you think about how it's the remnants of burning wood combined with a girl.blackcauldron85 wrote:That's one of the funniest things I've read, maybe ever.I definitely need to incorporate that into my "We're having a lull in conversation, we need something to say" repertoire.

The lantern in the sky(or water?) reminds me of the pokemon episode, Ghost of Maiden Peak. Which in turn is based on a Japanese summer festival event where they put lantern on small boats to symbolize the dead passing on.
The concept art of the lantern clearly reminds me of this.

Since you've decided to go and spoil the cute throwaway joke about the name of the tavern, how about going whole hog and giving us a preview of the production number that takes place inside? I predict there will be rejoicing in the streets if you do, and it won't even scare off the boys.

That's what I thought, too. It's a much prettier dress than the usual pink one.The Little Merboy wrote:I like that Ariel is wearing that dress, in the photo. You never see her in it
I also noticed that Aurora's wearing blue instead of pink, Jasmine's outfit is purple rather than the customary blue, and Cinderella's dress is less blue than usual.
I need to get a life.

I believe that picture was made on Disney Princess Fanpop, which has fas who much prefer seeing the princesses the way they looked in the films. Cinderella's dress should be silver and not just lighter blue, though. Her and Aurora's hair have been made much more accurate, though.
