from my observation of playing the two versions simultaneously..i didnt notice much difference..only cleaner and stronger and more correct skin tones for the new transfer..but the blue vs brown for the title sequence was just preposterous...so i give this new restoration an A- but pls disney..restored ur films correctly once and for all and NO MORE FIDDLING!!!!one thing that irks me with restorations is that some colors tend to pop out at u...example reds and yellows..its like they were painted using fluorescent pain or something..like philip's mantle and ariel's fin and hook's red coat.and whites are no longer whites but off white or grayish in some restrospect.but this all depends on the setting of the restoration template or machiny thing.
im glad tho..they didnt fix anita's jittery head during cruella de vil sequence.
and for future blu ray releases..i hope john lasseter and roy disney will ensure that ALL disney animated features...popular or not so popular be restored to the best possible state for future generations..this double standard practise isolates the least succesful films thus making them look sloppier and least special which will affect fans judgment ..future fans at least. example..
a new disney fanatic who was born in 1999 watches dalmatians..then jungle book and then aristocats..fully understanding their chronological order..and then finds the aristocats transfer least satisfying...he would come to the conclusion
"since disney died..the animation studio doesnt care much about the look of their animated films..they produce ugly looking colors that doesnt appeal to audience liking unlike the first two films that precedes it"
and..."during the world war...the package films were animated using dirtier multiplane camera due to the bombings" and the mood was mellow at the studio thus the colors reflect their current mood"
this will totally change the perspective on the history of animation.
