The showtunes channel on Music Choice, for the first time. I've heard some new stuff I like, some new stuff I don't like, some classics, and a few new spins on classics.

I'd never heard anything from Gypsy before but I was pleased with myself when it struck up and I thought, "this sounds like Bette Midler and a Sondheim tune," and then I looked up the lyrics and sure enough, it was both!

Still listening to MC's Show Tunes channel. Some song with Ernie Sabella just came on. I looked up because I thought I heard Pumbaa singing.

Woah, now Nell Carter is singing... isn't that the Hanging With Mr. Cooper woman?? Sure sounds like her.

Yep, now there's a picture too. I knew I remembered that name! Didn't know she sang, but she's pretty good.

The showtunes channel rocks! I don't have cable of any sort myself, but my friend has digital cable, so whenever I'm over, the showtunes radio station is so on!

Artist: The Postal Service
Track: Such Great Heights
Album: Give Up

I love the bleepity-bleep intro. Suuuch fun! The lyrics are so pretty and alluring too--it's a rather unconventional, uncheesy love letter.
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.
