These are definitely not fake and they're not "made from old character designs". It's just an excuse Disney gave so the websites will remove the images. People are so gullible. Can't they see that Anna's design in that poster is the same as the concept art Disney released? Also, Elsa's design fits the description The Rotoscopers gave which was based on a recent concept image of her.
Either that or the design has changed slightly and these were earlier renders, although I don't believe that's the case. These being fan-made is pretty silly. Who could have the technical know-how to produce character renders like these?

That's true, but look at the castle on Elsa's poster. It looks really plastic! And people did fan art with the same designs as we see in the poster.

Q: How similar is Elsa in the poster compared to the concept art you saw of her?

The Rotoscopers: Exactly spot on to the hair, design, clothes, coloring, etc. That IS the character design and model (apparently someone has access to those and made a fake poster).

Elsa Chang who is a visual development artist at WDAS also confirmed that although the composition is fan-made, the character designs are NOT.

Someone must have used the images Disney sent as style guides to make the 'posters'.

"Characters real, though not sure if those are the final poses or designs but the poster is fake."

I hope everything has cleared up by now.

Ahhhh, thanks! :) Just hope they can somehow make Elsa less pixie-ness and have Anna a LESS-AWKWARD pose.

BTW: I showed my mom the posters of them. She thought Anna looked so cute, but Elsa was creepy. Uhhh...Wreck-It Ralph anyone?    (She saw that with me, BTW)

The back ground of the character posters is the same as the low-res pic I posted a couple months ago, the one I found online last april.

How did they manage to make their hair look less realistic than Rapunzel's.... which was, oh I don't know, THREE YEARS AGO???

I don't consider anything from tangled cross eyed, just wide eyed, but yeah this render Anna does.

And wow, seriously disney? It couldn't be more obvious they just took the Rapunzel model and adjusted some sliders here and there, like lash length and brow shape and hair style. Basically every difference relates to hair. Her head and body are exactly the same, poly for poly.

I'm fine with Anna's design. We already knew she looked like Rapunzel (people complained about Rapunzel looking too much like Ariel when we first saw her), but there are some differences, I like her clothes, and you can tell her personality will be different from the pose. Making her blonde is a given considering the setting and big bug eyes are just Disney's style now. I just wish her nose was different to give her a more distinct look.

Elsa's design looks terrible though. I was expecting so much more from the concept art. I hope she has other darker, more regal/ominous outfits because she looks ridiculous. Hopefully things look better in motion. I'm sure the scenery will look nice at leas. :|

Looking at the image, I'm inclined to say they made Anna look like Kristen Bell. Slightly.

Oh and another thing, why does everyone keep referring to Anna as blonde? Amy I color blind or is she ginger? Freckles and all.

Kristen Bell:

I thought the cgi rendering was too fake to be disney's.

I think Elsa should of looked older. In all Snow Queen adaptions she older looking. Too young and her neck is thin enough for me to snap it in half. either that or her eyes are way too big. I dunno. her body frame is way too young and petite.

The jack frost comparison some mention did crossed my minded too.

I do like the Scandinavian castle. You can tell with the structure with the building looking like this:

I dont see it. Kristen Bell has a lot of intristing features I think they could play up if they wanted to. The way her gumline shows when she smiles, similiar to Avril lavigne. The occasional crooked smirk, the prominent cheekbones and jawline. Im not seeing any of that here. Just Rapunzel.

And yeah, either your color blind or need to adjust your monitor, she doesn't look like a red head to me.

I would call it strawberry blonde. And I totally see Kristin Bell. While they're obviously very similar, Rapunzel looks more like Mandy Moore and Anna looks more like Bell.

Yes, yes and yes.

She's definitely more strawberry blonde like Cinderella (pre-merchandise makeover). And I agree with Rapunzel/Mandy and Anna/Kristen.

I'm definitely seeing that.

I don't know. I'm not so sure. They look just like what the Rotoscopers described. Maybe the animation just wasn't finished or something, it leaked, and someone made them into posters without permission. They don't look terribly professional, after all.

I have to say, even though Anna looks like Rapunzel, she looks so likeable. I hope she'll be sort of like Jane from Tarzan, a shy, goofy, smart kind of heroine. I'm sort of disappointed with Elsa, though. Her hair looks like a mixture between Periwinkle and a mullet with a braid attached. Also, I'm not seeing the little ice crystals that are supposedly in her hair. And her face isn't doing much for me. The eyelashes are pretty ridiculous. But I DO like that they both have pink cheeks and noses, like they're actually in the snow.

EDIT: Did I just miss reading half a page, or did everyone post really fast? Either way, I'm glad I was right. 8)

I really like the designs (but yeah, Anna looks a LOT like Rapunzel, but they're both cute, so it's okay). And Elsa shouldn't look too different from Anna, right? Because they are sisters. I really like Elsa's hair and dress.

The artists did a horrible job on Anna's face. Elsa looks lovely to me. Bit too young for my liking, though.

She does look too young. Isn't she supposed to be the older sister? They should have made her more serious-looking and regal.
