Oh I definitely expect her to have red hair. I think Disney knows the casting backlash would be worse if she didn’t have red hair. Plus she has been hiding her hair in recent Instagram posts. However I wouldn’t be surprised if she has red dreadlocks instead of flowing red hair. I’m not sure visually how that would look underwater. It may be a little snake like. So I’m hoping they go with something like that art. Natural waves. I think it would visually be beautiful, especially since they’re CGI’ing the hair underwaterDisney's Divinity wrote:Yes, I liked what they did with the bra and the tail, and the ornament in her hair. I don't think the hair will be that color though... I'm expecting Bailey will have her natural hair color in the film.
Agreed with Divinity about the picture and agreed with nomad2010 about the hair.nomad2010 wrote:Oh I definitely expect her to have red hair. After being cast as Prince Eric in Disney's upcoming live-action "The Little Mermaid," he's had plenty of time to study his part. "I know that script so well now. I've had so much time," he said. "I could do every part. I could do I could say everyone's lines."
I think I read somewhere that the hair will be done digitally, they might put Halle in a skullcap to hide her hair so they can put markers on her head in order to match the digital hair to her head. I wonder what that means for the above water shots, if she'll get a wig then or go with her natural hair and hair pieces. I personally think the solid shapes of dreads might look more interesting and beautiful under water then a lump of flowing hair. We'll have to wait and see I guess...nomad2010 wrote:I don’t know if anyone noticed, but in the Disney Sing Along event Halle Bailey had clearly cut a large portion of her dreadlocks off which leads me to believe they are going to wig her for the movie. So I would expect we probably won’t be seeing dreadlocks on Ariel. I’m still betting they go with loose waves, but I also wouldn’t be shocked if they tried replicating Ariel’s hair from the animated.
It makes sense that they would CGI her hair to get the underwater effect.JeanGreyForever wrote:@robster16 - that's stunning! You're so talented. I hope she looks like that in the film.
I wouldn't be surprised if they CGI her hair because in Marvel's Endgame, Brie Larson's hair for the first part of the film was completely CGI.
