Harry Potter is my favorite novel.Absolutely freaking brilliant!!! It seems like the movie will have the right mood and tone and Gambon's Dumbledore seems to be really awesome, finally. I always liked Gambon's portrayal of Dumbledore, but his costume design sucked, thus distracting from his performance. The only thing I didn't like about his performance was that he didn't seem "happy" or light enough, something that the Dumbledore from the books is.

I've seen several commercials for this film and I have to say that this might be the rare exception where the film comes close to exceeding the book (which I find to be the worst of the series). It's actually got me excited, especially the scenes with Tom Felton, Alan Rickman and Helena Bonham Carter. I usually don't go out to see theatrical films outside my birthday (because I'd have to pay otherwise 
), but I plan to go see this one. I still feel bad that I didn't see Order of the Phoenix in theaters, and it was my favorite book!

It's mostly fantasy violence, and the MPAA is pretty mild about that. Perhaps some scary bits, but I'm not sure about that. 4 reviews up at Rotten Tomatoes & all are very positive. Looks like another great movie. Got my ticket for opening day & this will probably be the only summer movie I'll see multiple times in the theater before waiting for the dvd release. I'm rereading the book now & should finish just before I go to see it. I can't wait.

Well, I went to the midnight showing, and it was PACKED! I absolutely loved it. The changes from the book, for the most part, I didn't mind.
SPOILERS BELOW!!
PROS:
WAY more Luna!
WAY more Draco!
Narcissa was cast perfectly, I thought.
Bellatrix's attack on the house was well done, and sad.
Ron and Hermione obviously like each other, which makes a good backdrop for what will happen in the eighth movie.
CONS:
Barely any Hagrid
Neville was only in two very short scenes.
Hedwig wasn't even in it. (Well, he was mentioned, but...)
The Harry/Ginny kiss should have happened like it did in the book.
There weren't that many "memory" sequences.
Dumbledore's death was WAY too sudden. I understand it was sudden in the book, but I really did not like the way it was executed.

The quality of the filming is amazing! It's greatly improved since the first film. The actions sequences look fantastic.
The role of Slughorn is played greatly by Jim Broadbent.
Cons:
The Harry and Ginny scenes are AWKWARD.
There are points when it looks like there aren't lenses in Harry's glasses. Small thing, but it kinda annoyed me.
There was one point when Harry pointed out his scar, but I didn't see it. I didn't see it for most of the film.

I'll agree with that BUT say that I was pleasantly surprised to see Aragog's funeral in the film and not say... just getting smashed for no reason.Barely any Hagrid

Overall I agree with your pros and cons though I'd add the lack of meeting the Gaunts to the list of cons, and an explanation of the inferi.
Didn't miss Dumbledore's funeral as much as I would have imagined, but I would have liked the final scene to take place in front of the White Tomb, just so we knew it was actually there.
Overall, and it amazes me to say this, I actually REALLY enjoyed the movie. That's never happened before.

Yates did very well with Half-Blood Prince. Finally a movie (only POA did this) where we have character development and not chalk full of action sequences. Finally a movie got better framing than Prisoner of Azkaban!
The Weasley Joke Shop scene was good fun. I'm surprised they didn't use the Donkey-Kong sounding track "Wizard Wheezes" that Hooper wrote. But thank goodness they didn't!
The whole movie, the soundtrack was to quiet for me to notice how horrible it was...until they played bagpipes at Argog's death scene. Disgusting!
More Professors! With such a great cast I wish they used them more!
The Room of Requirement entrance should've been shown with Harry and Ginny walking through it. It emphasizes the "weird wall that transforms into door" from OOTP.
We got gypped with Quidditch...AGAIN. I don't think filmmakers understand it is seriously the BEST sport ever. What was shown in the movie wasn't enough. Plus, everyone (except me) is complaining there isn't enough action. A longer Quidditch would've solved this.
The memory scenes were very good. When I first heard of Yates cutting it down to two, I kind of understood it. Looking at the film now though, I wish he kept more in because for some reason having two doesn't really make Voldemort "big and bad."
There are more cons written, but trust me, I really really liked this one!
