Agreed. I couldn`t have said it better myself. It was even better than the last trailer.Musical Master wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 4:55 pmFirst of all, nice to see new footage. Second, I'm hearing a new song by Asha that sounds epic, not to mention King Magnifico acting scary/threatening which is awesome! All this is making me wonder if there's a third trailer coming this month.

Re: Wish
I notice that tv spots and teaser trailer sell the movie better for me personally than the first trailer when it comes to Disney movies. I don't know if I'm the only one. Maybe it's cause the trailers they usually try to appeal to quirky kiddish audience while the teaser and tv spots shows more of the epic, fantastical side of the story.

Here’s an alternate version of the same tv spot: https://x.com/PrimeTimeFilms_/status/17 ... sTRzg&s=07reee9948 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 4:08 pm new tv spot. https://twitter.com/almanaquedisney/sta ... 9544680655
Really cool to see new footage of the movie and we finally hear another song from the movie that isn’t “This Wish”. I love Asha interacting with Star and I didn’t expect Star to bump itself into the screen with it’s goofy smile

Same, they also did the same thing with their other movies like Raya, Encanto, and Strange World with their teasers representing the genres they’re embodying. They’re my favorite trailers and the ones I usually repeat, mostly because it’s the only thing they release before the main trailer comes out in a very long period of time.reee9948 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 12:07 am I notice that tv spots and teaser trailer sell the movie better for me personally than the first trailer when it comes to Disney movies. Re: Wish
And if I could guess where this song takes place: it's at the moment where Asha, along with her family, friends and Queen Amaya, finally decide to stop hiding and to confront and defeat King Magnifico once and for all. Wow am I excited to hear more about the soundtrack!ElMaximo13 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 5:59 amThe only line I can make out is “Knowing what I know now”.

There was a promo during Dancing with the Stars of The Wonderful World of Disney’s Disney 100 Celebration promo, and along with Once Upon A Studio and Encanto, they confirmed a special look at Wish in that spot, too.
Re: Wish
Photos of all the pages of another tie-in book, "Welcome to Rosas". This one doesn't seem to be too spoilery.
This article also provides some details I hadn't heard before like Magnifico telling Asha he remembers her father before he passed away, or him announcing to the kingdom he will grant the wish of the one who can turn in the traitor. There's also some more info about what happens during the song "This Is the Thanks I Get."
I found that article thanks to this trailer breakdown. There Youtuber Aussie Disney Girl also mentions Queen Amaya's cape reminds her of Elsa's "Let It Go" dress. That's something I had noticed too, but personally it reminds me more of the capes she wears in Frozen II. The braid could also be inspired by Elsa's. Maybe they took elements from her because she's also a Disney queen.

Associate Production Designer Griselda Sastrawinata-Lemay, who worked on the film's costume design, recently confirmed there are nods to past Disney films in the costumes, so most likely things like the one I mentioned are not just a coincidence.
Here's also some promotional stuff:

Source: https://jurnalapps.co.id/animator-indon ... lis-116013In looking for inspiration for her work, Griselda explored various material sources, such as European and North African history, to create a unique costume for the main character, Asha. But, it also explored some of Disney's animated classics to bring details from some iconic films, which fans will definitely notice when they see Disney's "Wish" this November.

Yeah, it turns out they all do work in the castle kitchen. Maybe it's another reference to the seven dwarfs, as they all work together as well. I've read the first pages of the books and another thing that caught my attention is that Asha does call her grandpa saba; does this confirm he's Jewish? I also noticed they refer to Star as "her," I don't know if this means Star has a gender.Musical Master wrote: ↑Wed Oct 11, 2023 10:15 pm I like that one of the artworks shows that all the Teens work at the castle in some compacity. It isn't just Dahlia who works there.
I think short films aren't usually included in the runtime. That's similar to the runtime featured on Disney's awards website, which is an hour and 32 minutes.reee9948 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 11:43 am They started pre selling tickets for Wish and the runtime shown in theaters website is an hour and 35 minutes. The Once Upon A studio short isnt't showing so I think another 10 minute short will be shown, but I'm wondering if the runtime includes the short itself. If it does then the movie itself is an hour and 25 and without credit its an hour and 15 minutes of content.

Re: Wish
"This Is the Thanks I Get" is described as a "song and rap". It is rather interesting that the article says that while Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice are using a contemporary sound for their songs, that Julia is a huge fan of the classics. I wonder if the songs are a mixture of Broadway and Contemporary; I guess we'll see when the soundtrack comes out.

Re: Wish
So my theory from months ago was right
Asha is a mix of all cultures in the iberian peninsula
She is half sephardic jewish (or maybe a quarter? But her grandpa is definetly jewish) her mom is black (west african slavery heritage in Spain) and wears romani style clothes (in 1200 we (I'm part romani) didn't arrived yet to Spain, but it's a fake island so it doesn't have to be completely real) and also has arabic name and Asha says Salam in the book.
So I'm assuming her mom is a black spaniard who is culturally arab (basically everybody in the Al Andalus) so her name origins in that
Oh wait wait, what if Asha mom is a tuareg amazigh (black amazigh tribe) instead of West African? That would make sense too

Shining Star Sound Book read-aloud video (Spoilers)
By the way, I forgot to say Asha's new song featured in the latest TV spot reminds me a little of "When You Believe" from The Prince of Egypt. Although, it's a very short snippet. It seems she'll have at least two ballads then.
It does look a bit like a Disney channel bumper.
I didn't notice the article said the song was a rap. Interesting choice for a villain song. Perhaps it's the film's tribute to Lin-Manuel Miranda and his contribution to WDAS films.Musical Master wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 10:26 pm "This Is the Thanks I Get" is described as a "song and rap". According to the directors, Asha's mother is North African; they don't give more details about her or Sabino's origin, but yes, it seems Asha is a mix of several cultures.Pokenonbinary wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 8:28 am So my theory from months ago was right

Source: https://blackgirlnerds.com/5-things-you ... neys-wish/Chris Buck states that Sakina, voiced by actor Natasha Rothwell, is North African. Sabino is Asha's 100-year old grandfather who is of Southern European descent. He is voiced by actor Victor Garber. Sakina is Asha's biological mother, and Asha's father died when she was 12.

It was basically a re-edited version of the new trailer we got. Sure, we didn't get anything new, but seeing the animation/visuals in uncompressed picture and quality was a treat.blackcauldron85 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 15, 2023 8:31 pm I fell asleep at some point between "Surface Pressure" and "What Else Can I Do;" what was the Wish sneak peak??
