Tangled (formerly Rapunzel) Discussion - Part II
All I can say is "Took you long enough, Disney." Honestly, at this point in time a year ago, we saw so much footage from The Princess and the Frog, it's ridiculous that we've seen so little of Tangled. Oh, well. At least, now, we know when we can expect the trailer. And hopefully, some of those Top Secret Tours will be shown, too. They owe us that much.

You know... I think it's very interesting how little we've seen of Tangled compared to TPatF. Even though TPatF was a return to classic Disney animation... Maybe Tangled represents the real second Renaissance. Even though it's CG, it seems so far as though it will be the most beautiful CG we've ever seen from any studio to date, and the fact that the music is Menken again... Maybe they've been saving it so that it won't be as familiar when it comes out as TPatF was.... Just a thought.

You know what, I have to admit. Even though the name of the movie is kind of misguided, but deep inside of the movie itself, it will STILL be a good movie no matter what. Who knows, it could be as good as, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1," or maybe BETTER. That depends when it comes out in theaters, and the best part is, it comes out after, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1." If it comes out before, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1," Disney is doomed.

According to Imdb, HPatDHpt.1 is coming out on the 19th of November, whereas Tangled comes out on the 24th, just as Thanksgiving Break begins.Polizzi wrote:You know what, I have to admit. Polizzi I saw your comment on Tangled's facebook page... how can you possibly think that GORGEOUS drawing is no good? First of all, it's done by Glen Keane, the master of everything animation and/or Disney related, and second... it's just concept art! Just because he looks a little buff and her hair isn't perfectly well detailed and everything doesn't make that a bad drawing. Everything in this CONCEPT SKETCH is completely perfect, and a lot of animators would kill to be able to do it.

OMG! I hd such high hopes of finding at least a crappy capture of the commercial advertising the trailer/sneak preview on the Disney Channel this morning.
Seriously people I BEG of you to please, please, please record it somehow. Just put on The Disney Channel, record it to dvd or tivo it, then get in front of your tv screen with a digital video or photocamera and film or photograph the screen and upload it online to youtube or a direct download! It's hardly difficult or time consuming, but it would make SO MANY people in Europe happy that we can see the first footage of the movie, actually fully rendered and animated!

I didn't say that the concept art is terrible, I just said that the art of Flynn Rider needs a few adjustments, that's all. And as for Rapunzel, she DOESN'T need any adjustments, she's perfect, including her long golden hair. For the record, I like the art very much, it's just that Flynn Rider needs a few adjustments. And on top of that, according to another comment described by someone else besides me, he does kind of look like Gaston from Disney's, "Beauty and the Beast," but different.SWillie! wrote:Polizzi I saw your comment on Tangled's facebook page... how can you possibly think that GORGEOUS drawing is no good? P.S. I give Glen Keane's art an A-.

This could give Disney a higher advantage than, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows,"...maybe. To you Disney fans, it will.Polizzi wrote:That depends when it comes out in theaters, and the best part is, it comes out after, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1."

Please, let's not get our hopes too high. After TPATF, we'll just disappoint ourselves. If Tangled is a huge success, so be it, but let's try and not pressure it into becoming the fourth golden age of Disney.Margos wrote:You know... Hey, I was happy enough with TPatF's return to classic form that I'm already pretty sure were in another golden age. I'm just saying, maybe it's like TLM and BatB.... A really great movie followed by an even better really great movie!UmbrellaFish wrote:Please, let's not get our hopes too high. After TPATF, we'll just disappoint ourselves. Do you even know who you're talking about? You're talking about the man who animated THIS.Polizzi wrote:P.S. I give Glen Keane's art an A-.

He's an animation God. Us up and coming animators actually worship him. A stick figure drawn by him is more expressive and interesting than a multiple hour drawing done by most.
Can I ask how you can give that an A-? Where does the "-" come from?

He's great in fact amazing. but his doesn't blow my mind like Richard William does. Check his thief and cobbler stuff(not the half ass marimax one) i mean original one he intended for. And again there's roger rabbit too.SWillie! wrote:Do you even know who you're talking about? You're talking about the man who animated THIS.Polizzi wrote:P.S. I give Glen Keane's art an A-.

Richard Williams is technically flawless, but in my opinion Glen Keane's work breathes emotion and technically he is just on another level. Every drawing he makes is built up out of volumes, like he sculpts his drawings in 3D while drawing. It's just... I could pick those drawings and his technique apart frame by frame for decades. So much wonderfull stuff...Super Aurora wrote:He's great in fact amazing. but his doesn't blow my mind like Richard William does.
