So basically you have two options:
a) Buy all the treasures for $2,000
or
b) Get a D23 account and buy them all for about $630.

Oh yeah, I know this is a time to breathe now. I was a little scared for a second there. Only at the prospect of having to hunt down yet another cheap copy of Lady and the Tramp, instead of just getting it over with now. I'm not worried anymore- when USPS tracks it, it always comes.Scarred4life wrote:^About your Lady and the Tramp wait, I didn't receive my Lion King: PE until 14 days after I ordered it. True, it didn't have a jacket, and the cover art was printed off... even though it was advertised as 'new'. But the discs were in perfect shape, and the above factors had nothing to do with the long wait.
Is something wrong with your Little Mermaid DVD?Lazario wrote:#7: 2010-April-8 = The Little Mermaid: Platinum Edition (Will Replace in Future)
Geez. You'd think that one could just get a decent copy (then again, this is eBay we're talking about).Lazario wrote:Yes. In fact, I said this above:
In other not-so-good news... my Little Mermaid: Platinum came in on Saturday and was severely damaged. Both discs. Brand new and sealed / wrapped up. But the person who sealed / wrapped it up had scratched the discs and not bothered to tell anyone. And that's not the first DVD I've gotten like that. Does anyone know if there's some new and horrible epidemic that's striking the people who work on DVD packaging lines? Where they can't hold the discs in their hands firmly, so they toss them around like they're flipping pizzas? Anyway, the seller wasn't responsible for this but they gave me a refund (which I desperately needed) and told me I didn't need to send the damaged set back.
( Just so I don't have to re-type it)
The disc was completely spotless! About time after all the eBay gambles I've taken, too.Lazario wrote:
Yes, I made sure to order the 2002 DVD. Used, but if it's in good enough condition, I'm not going to bother buying the new 2010 edition in the next few years.
Actually, it's incredibly stressful. Out of the 21 so far, 5 sets have been bootlegs. I decided to go through my discs last night, flipped them over and looked for consistencies in the little circle in the middle. Basically, all of the true Disney DVD's have these barcode symbol things in the middle circle. My: Fantasia, Bambi, Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, and Little Mermaid DVD's are missing those. And I have problems with 4 out of 5 of the discs too. So, I need to replace most of them. They're very convincing forgeries, though. But there were other signs.kbehm29 wrote:Good job on keeping up with the collecting, and in a hurry too! Isn't it fun?
