My local Walmart is smaller than most, and consequently, it has a limited selection of some items. It did, however, have the Saludos Amigos/Three Caballeros Collection. There was only one short row of discs, and it was kind of tucked away and not prominantly displayed, so maybe you have to look hard for it.

You do have to look for it because I didn't see it in Circuity City and it took me a moment to find it in Walmart. It was not prominantly displayed in the Walmart in my area either. I looked for about 5 minutes before finding it.gardener14 wrote:My local Walmart is smaller than most, and consequently, it has a limited selection of some items. I bought this film at my Fred Meyers, it was in the kids family section, I've never seen Saludos Amigos before til now and I recalled on Donald's Quack Attack show, they aired El Gauncho Goofy (uneditied I believe and it was titled How To Be A CowBoy). Saludos was a wonderful and insightful of the various cultures, especialy the live action scenes. Course we're all familar with 3 Amegios, this film is so so much fun to watch, I love the culture clash "device" for Donald, Joe C. and Panchito, very smooth, enriching and marvelous piece of animation.

Does anyone know if this DVD will come with a slipcover if I purchase it off of Amazon? I don't have to have it, but it's kind of an uniformity thing. Thanks.

I hope to buy this soon, probably when I buy National Treasure.
BTW, Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh - Friendship Edition - its not out of print already is it?
My Target doesn't carry it (at least not where I can spot it easily).

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

I finally found the movie at my local Barnes and Noble a few days ago, and I'm so happy to have these both on DVD now. I've only had the Gold Collection releases on video before and it's been a while since I've seen both of them. Watching them I was rather surprised by Three Caballeros' psychdelic ending and how trippy it was. Even before the 60s, the Disney animators were way ahead of the times.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. If you like Three Caballeros along with Saludos Amigos, and want them together, then I would probably say buy it. But since it still has the same South American travelogue on the old Gold Collection, and the only new features are the Walt Disney interview clip and two cartoons, there isn't much you'll be missing features-wise.yukitora wrote:Is it worth the upgrade from the GC/backbone version? We still have saludos amigos single-disc here.
I really enjoyed these two movies but I'll have to for the R4 transfer, if ones been announced...

I found this movie at my local Target when it was released, somehow I reasoned with myself not to buy the movie. My plan was to come back the next week AFTER I got paid. To my surprise I cannot find this movie ANYWHERE....I don't have it the previous discs...

The double points bonus for this DVD title ends June 2. The normal points value returns June 3.chadhobbick wrote:When does the DMR double points end for this release?

What about if you only owned one of them on DVD? (Saludos Amigos). I'm not sure whether to wait or buy (some say buy and some say don't. I'm sure we won't see a re-release anytime soon as it just came out though..Escapay wrote:I'd say no. The original mono mixes, the original TTC GC bonus cartoons, and the trailers for both movies are lost. And the only thing gained are barely-remixed 5.1 audio tracks, two different bonus cartoons (which, IMO, are inferior to the ones that were dropped), and a less-than-two-minute interview.Matt wrote:is it worth the upgrade or no?
Stick to your old discs. There isn't enough improvement in a/v quality to merit a double-dip for technical reasons, and if you're a bonus features lover, more is lost than gained, and much of what's gained isn't worth the double-dip either.
