Compared to the second and third installments of this series, this was by far the best of the series. Although the acting and plotlines are pretty cheezy, I enjoyed this one as much as the first "Halloweentown". I think the second and third installments were a total waste of talent and energy. I would consider buying this when it comes to DVD.

The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!

In the past 4.5 hours, I have watched "Halloweentown 2: Kalabar's Revenge" to refresh my memory, "Halloweentown High" for the first time, and then caught "Return to Halloweentown." I thought the 4th film in the series looked really bad. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it and "Halloweentown High." I didn't like the new girl (forgot her name) as Marnie, but I'm assuming that Kimberly Brown was busy because they kept the rest of the cast the same. Anyways, I noticed a blooper and a hidden Mickey. In the scene where the mom is at the grocery store and is checking out, watch her credit card. She slides it upside down (the black bar doesn't get swiped) so she is basically stealing all of her food. lol. The hidden Mickey is shown twice in the film. I can't remember if it was before or after the scene in the library, but there is a girl in the background in a black shirt with a golden Mickey logo from the 50th anniversary of Disneyland. The girl appears in the same shirt later when everyone on campus is getting ready for the Halloween party, but that goes by fast, so you have to keep your eyes peeled. Now that I have seen all of the Halloweentown films, the first is deffinatley still my favorite and the second is my favorite of the sequels. "Return to Halloweentown" comes in at my third favorite in the series. By the way, I would anticipate a fifth one in 2 years. It seems like they make a new one every 2-3 years and this one has an open ending. I've never seen "Twitches," but "Twitces 2" is being made as the October DCOM of 2007, so I'd say it's safe to say that a Halloweentown 5 would be coming around October 2008. I'm excited.

Man, could have seen all the Halloweentown movies yesterday, finally, but had to do a family thing. I caught a lot of the first and second, but couldn't really hear it because of people talking. They looked better than I had originally thought, though I always figured they were decent Halloween movies. I still haven't seen any of Halloweentown High. Luckily, I saw practically all of Return to Halloweentown, and it was really good. True, some of the acting, especially the Sinister Sisters (though I dug the twins) wasn't great. But I enjoyed it. Sara Paxton definitely makes a better brunette than a blonde! I don't know why, but I can barely stand her as a blonde. Anyways, looking forward to buying ALL of them on DVD, SOMEday...

I love the Halloweentown series and I personally didnt like the 3rd too much. My favorite was the 2nd one, but when I heard that there was going to be a 4th I was excited. When we started watching it, I still couldnt get past the new Marnie. I hate inconsistancies between movies. And about an hour into the movie, I fell asleep. Maybe it just wasnt exciting enough, or maybe I was just really tired. I dont know If I can like the movie much at all if I still hate the actress change.......
Well I thought it was definetly a good movie but since this movie had open ending i'm afraid that it will turn out kind of like harry potter now since they were still at school and not everything was fully resolved. But hopefully it will keep it's halloweentown like charm.
