I kinda see what you mean, but I have a feeling they'll work quite well when we see them in motion. In static images Rapunzel looks a lot more generic to me than in the film. The animation, whether one likes or dislikes CG humans, is kind of amazing. I have faith that it will look as smooth and beautiful as Tangled. If not, then I don't know what they've been doing for the past three years.Sotiris wrote:I actually don't like any the character designs including that of Hans. Re: Frozen: Part III
It's a cute teaser. I LOVE the animation on Olaf. It's very funny and not at all annoying.
I'll put it up here, new page again:

Re: Frozen: Part III
Agreed. While I certainly wish we could see something out of the actual film, this little teaser is certainly going to get some laughs out of little kids. Also interesting that they hit right off the bat with "from the makers of Tangled and Wreck it Ralph".

Re: Frozen: Part III
I hate to be majorly anal and negative about this, but I was super underwhelmed by this.
Here's why... We wait almost a whole year for some footage of the film. SOMETHING. We get nothing save for some concept art and very brief animation. We FINALLY get a teaser, and what we get instead is essentially a short cartoon with the comedic characters. Oh sure, it was cute and funny, and the characters looked promising... But what about the actual story of Anna and Elsa? All previous Disney Animated Classic teasers at least focused on main characters and a teaser of what their story would be about.
I know I may be expecting too much out of a teaser trailer, but considering that we have waited for a whole year for SOMETHING about the story, and what we get instead is just cute sidekick antics, I can't help but feel underwhelmed by it. Worse is that if Disney marketing is to be predicted, we won't get another trailer till much later in the year.

And it finally happens. While, I like the new images of the main characters, still no excuse to wait this long. As for the teaser, it's nice, but this teaser should of been on the WIR DVD this past March. The teaser is a nice knock-off of Scrat's teasers from Ice Age. Again, nice but nothing impressive that required such a long wait. Now, another LONG wait til Planes & D23 before we hopefuuly get a REAL trailer.
Re: Frozen: Part III
PRECISELY my point. Disney is not like Pixar in that they release a million trailers for a whole year: they strategically release trailers at key moments during the year. If the are following the same pattern established as last year with Ralph, we won't be getting our first REAL trailer till the middle of the year.DisneyEra wrote:And it finally happens. Tangled's teaser was on The Princess & the Frog DVD in March 2010. It's official 1st trailer, while leaked in rough-draft form that February was released on June 10, 2010.pap64 wrote:PRECISELY my point. WIR had no teaser of any kind. At D23 in August of 2011, a mock-up arcade of Fix-It Felix Jr. was shown to the public & put online in various forms. It's 1st official trailer was released on June 6, 2012.
This Frozen teaser should of been released on the WIR DVD. The leaked Chris Buck trailer from last April was really nice, but is not an official trailer. If Frozen has no Real trailer with Planes & D23 2013 this August 9, it's anyone's guess when or if a real trailer will be released!

Re: Frozen: Part III
Well, I didn't like the teaser. It was neither funny nor charming. I found both characters very derivative and uninspired. The whole thing just felt repetitive and tiresome. I would have much preferred if they made Sven talk instead of pulling the same Maximus shtick. As it has been mentioned, the teaser also gave off an Ice Age vibe (instead of chasing a nut, they're chasing a carrot). I know it's just a teaser but they could've come up with something more fresh instead of using every tired gag in the book.
Fortunately, I was prepared for this. We already knew that it was going to be a teaser featuring the sidekicks so my expectations were really low. I can only imagine the disappointment of people who expected a proper trailer. I'm still hopeful about the film. Thankfully, Olaf doesn't look as annoying as I had imagined. I think Josh Gad's performance alone can make the character work.

OK, never mind. It seems that we may still get a full trailer after all later in the week. At least that's what some animation sites are reporting.

I think it's best if ALL our expectations for Frozen are low from now on. This film has yet to make any real impression.Sotiris wrote:Well, I didn't like the teaser. Re: Frozen: Part III
That's the vibe I am getting, at least. Considering we also got pics of the rest of the characters along with pics from the teaser, I think we may be getting more. We'll see if this same teaser trailer is attached to MU on Friday.DisneyEra wrote:I seriously doubt this, but hope i'm wrong.pap64 wrote:OK, never mind. And turns out I may have misread what the site said. The sneek peak was for the pictures we got earlier. So who knows at this point.

Re: Frozen: Part III
May I please be frank here?
I didn't like the teaser that much. I mean, it's very cute, and kids will absolutely love Olaf and Sven in the film. But the main problem I have with this teaser is that its just cutesy characters being funny. There is no story or dialogue to speak of. Of course I'm not expecting the entire premise to be shown. Maybe a better option would have been to show Anna and Kristoff just talking, and have Sven and Olaf being goofy in the background. Or heck, do what Tangled did and just show snow falling and have the characters speak over it. You know, show more than the comedy relief.
And why does Sven act like a dog? He's not the hound that Maximus was, but still.
I don't want to come across as ungrateful. I understand Frozen is on a very tight schedule (though I'm not entirely sure how that came to be), and that at this point, getting something is better than nothing.

Re: Frozen: Part III
I find it pretty odd. They release pictures that show more of the actual story, and this teaser does not tell the story at all. Kind of mixed up a bit here. I really think they should have done a more adventurous teaser. But maybe we'll get that when the next trailer comes. The reindeer definitely feels like a copy of Maximus.

SURPRISE!!!
Anyway, here's the teaser trailer with high quality.

Re: Frozen: Part III
From the description of the english trailer, a plot description:
Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind "Tangled" and "Wreck-It Ralph," presents "Frozen," a stunning big-screen comedy adventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.
The film is directed by Chris Buck ("Tarzan," "Surf's Up") and Jennifer Lee (screenwriter, "Wreck-It Ralph"), and produced by Peter Del Vecho ("Winnie the Pooh," "The Princess and the Frog"). Featuring music from Tony® winner Robert Lopez ("The Book of Mormon," "Avenue Q") and Kristen Anderson-Lopez ("In Transit"), "Frozen" comes to UK cinemas in 3D on December 6, 2013.
MYSTICAL TROLLS?! Did we know about those?!?

Re: Frozen: Part III
This did nothing to sell me on the film. A couple of cute sight gags and nothing more. I think the snowman is one of the worst character designs in Disney history... he just seems odd to me and perhaps ugly. Overall this is the worst first footage for a Disney film in recent memory.
I am tired of Disney selling the comedy/schtick of their films rather than the whimsy/beauty/magic.
These are some other first trailers from the Lasseter era, let's compare:
This goes for nostalgia and features the entire cast - pretty perfect in my opinion:

Another example of a near-flawless first trailer - it gives the feel for the film in every respect:

Remember how many UDers were up in arms about this first trailer? For numerous reasons: 1) main focus on Flynn 2) P!nk's "Trouble" song 3) "Here comes the smolder 4) [text card]: "She's been grounded like... FOREVER!"
But at least we meet the Princess and the Hero... what if this first trailer had only focused on Pascal & Maximus? What message would that have sent? This seems much better now by comparison:

Even this was better - because again you meet the Princess and the Hero (only not in human form)... plus they still snuck in some sidekick action:

This is equally silly but at least introduces the whole cast and the story:

This is much more funny than the "Frozen" teaser in retrospect:

All in all with only 5 months until the premiere this is not going to cut it. Why is Disney marketing asleep at the wheel like never before?
All these other teasers prove that this is the least footage we've ever gotten in a first promo.
