AND GUESS WHAT!?
WE CAN SEE ARIEL'S MOTHER!
*_*
and btw, Marina Del Rey's animation looks spectacular...and she looks a hell of a lot like Ursula, if she were younger and if she were a mermaid. Same hair, make-up...hmmm...makes me wonder heheheh ;P
enjoy!

Oh. My god.
That was probably the most lengthy preview of an upcoming Disney direct-to-video sequel I have ever seen in my entire life, and I'm so glad it was. They showed everything that's been kept in the dark for the past two YEARS, and I LOVED that they did.
I think the main thing that bothers me, more than anything, is how much Ariel's mother looks like her, it looks like incest or something.. but I love how they really set up the introduction. That was great. I wonder what happened to her mother? Died while saving Ariel? I guess that would make the most sense, she died so Triton outlawed music... hmm... maybe not. lol
I don't like the redone musical scene... the music is a lot weaker, and the animation is a little off, but at least now we understand why she did that ridiculous wave, and made all those fcuked up faces. lol
I LOVED the scene with Ariel's sisters. It's about time they got an introduction, or at least some more lines. lol By the way, did the first opening shot remind anyone else of Peter Pan? I loved it.
This prequel looks very promising. Thanks so much for letting us know about the update,
caioloki!
edit: I forgot to talk about Marina del Ray!
I was honestly expecting her to be a stingray. I mean, doesn't that make sense? Marina del
Ray is a sting
ray, like Ms. Potts was a
pot, or Lumiére was a
lightstick? Hm... well, it makes sense to me. lol
I like Sally Field for this part. I know her best for her role in Ms. Doubtfire, so it's interesting to see her change characters and be the villain, rather than the responsible mother, y'know?
I do get what
caioloki said about the similarity in appearances. I guess it makes more sense for Marina to be a mermaid rather than a squid like Ursula or Morgana (and don't you correct me and say she's an octopus, or I'll get Pat Carrol herself to beat you up. lmfao

). Again, this looks very promising, and I'm glad Disney decided to put the extra effort into it.
