got this idea from the "lion king: movie or broadway" thread...
i prefer the songs from the broadway...by far... because not only are there better renditions of the ones in the movie, the added songs are just incredible. except for morning report... what a waste! and i cant believe that out of all the nwe songs they chose that one to put in the special edition of the movie ... why not shadowland or endless night? those were much better

They do say, Mrs M, that verbal insults hurt more than physical pain. They are, of course, wrong, as you will soon discover when I stick this toasting fork into your head. - Blackadder the Third

Honestly, I wasn't too interested in the live-action musical version. I mean, I already had Rythm of the Pridelands as well as the movie soundtrack, and I guess I became interested in other things. Then one of my friends played the Shadowland song for me. I was blown away. I immediately bought the CD and enjoyed it immensly.
I was also disappointed that the Morning Report was the song chosen to add to the film. I remember reading somewhere that this particular song was chosen because of legal issues with the credits, but I'm not sure if this is true or not. All I do know is that a song like Shadowland or even Endless Night would have added so much more dimension to the film.
Still, there is a lot I like about the soundtrack of the film, especially Circle of Life. I also love the score. It's not often that a piece of BGM like the Stampede will move me to tears like that. However, I'm leaning toward the Broadway version as my personal favorite.
