I dont know if it's only me but the colours on the preview seem to be pumped up like beauty and the beast. I hope they didnt go crazy with Cinderella and change the whole colour scheme.

It's just you. Cinderella has always looked like that. Disney's animated transfers for these 2-disc sets have always been stunning (yes, Beauty and the Beast's color scheme was odd, but the filmmakers approved it, and it DOES look good after you get used to it). If Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, and Sleeping Beauty are any indication, Cinderella will look phoenominal on DVD. It's never actually looked that bad to begin with, so I'm eager to see what they do with it.

The trailers never show restored footage (at least not the whole time) anyway ;)

I agree. I think the platinum dvd's should be aimed at an audience of collectors because they're mainly put out for their special features. the main movie is all the kids would care about anyway. please Disney, NO PRINCESS!

I doubt that Cinderella will surpass Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in terms of special feature-quality/quantity, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that my doubts are wrong.

Disney will most definitely have some kiddie games on the DVD so I just hope to God that the kiddie fluff is kept to a bare minimum.
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.

Trailer Video Anywhere?

Post by TweedlDum9 »

The Disney DVD website's Release Calendar only goes up to March, so there's not even a section for the Platinum Release yet over there...

That being said, do any of you know if the trailer is lurking around the internet somewhere?

I have no intention of buying any of the pointless (well, maybe except Chip & Dale) "Starring ___" DVDs, so I won't be seeing the trailer on my TV anytime soon...

Then go ahead and encourage the Disney brand to be slapped on crap, and go ahead and endorse the fact that the only "real" animation to come out of Disney anymore will be shitty DTV sequels.

if disney hears enough input like that then they'll actually think what they're doing is good and will sell anyway they wont even TRY to make quality things and everything will end up crap...

Crap is a relative term. If my girl like it and enjoy it, it is not crap. Disney's main audience are kids, not fixated and prone-to-critic everything adults.

I also agree.

What pains me most is not the fact that they will be encouraged to release more cheapquels, but the fact that crappy movies hinder the legacy, the morals behind what Walt did, it lowers the standards of my favorite company.

Walt is dead !! The company, the market, the technology are different. This a new world and a new reality.

Okay...let's just sum all of this up. The Cinderella Platinum Edition dvd will be spectacular (fingers crossed)- THINK POSITIVE. The cover art will be great, the transfer will be great etc. There will not be a lot of kiddie stuff but there will be some- get over it. Doesn't anyone remember Snow White** on dvd? People were skeptical thinking, it would be a trashy, crappy, kid-fest, but it was and is one of the best dvds ever released.

Now, on the subject of "Cinderella III". All of us remember Cinderella II, some hated, some liked, some loved, some despised. I liked it. It was mediocre but we expect that. The film is not crap until we have seen it, so we can all breathe now....

CINDERELLA PLATINUM EDITION. 2-Disc Special Edition. 4Oct'05..... :D

**Of course you remember Snow White!! :P

Your post has gotten me even more pumped up for this release in October, Tink. ;)

I do hope the quality (in terms of video and extras) is on par with that of Snow White. I doubt it'll be quite as great, but anything near it will suffice. If Disney's going to use one of those 5 covers that we saw so long ago, I hope they use the third one (with a bit of tweaking, of course). Cindy, Prince Charming, the mice, and the pumpkin coach. <3
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.
