I was interesting in pre-ordering the Wave 3 editions through Amazon.com. However, the feedback on the condition of your Disney tins don't sound too pleasing. I am also very fussy when it comes to the appearance of my DVDs.
I usually pick up my Disney Treasures at a local Disney store, that way I don't have to anxiously await like a little kid. Has anyone else had problems ordering tins through the mail?

Living as I do in the UK I've had to get all the existing Disney tins shipped over from America. I've had all seven from Amazon.com and not one is dented - and they've had considerable further to travel.
Amazon's packaging is without a doubt the best I've ever seen for mail order goods. I cannot off the top of my head think of any Amazon DVDs that have been damaged in the post, and 90% of my R1 titles come from Amazon.Com. However, it is not uncommon for the disc to become unattached from a hub and be delivered as a 'floater'.
I suppose the biggest danger is that you don't get to choose which tin to purchase, so Amazon could simply package up an already dented tin in your order. In fact, floaters could also have been unattached from the hub before being packaged by Amazon (Most floaters are caused by there being too much weight on a DVD case when it is in storage as this pushes the hub down and lets the disc work free).
I choose Amazon as my preferred supplier as their packaging and customer service are second to none. I've had no problems with Amazon correcting the odd mishap on the few times it has happened.

Again, I'm tempted to do the same thing but regardless of packaging, these dvd's are very succeptible to small dents, etc. You can never be assured when ordering online as you never know which tins they will package for you. I am going to go to my local retailer a month in advance to request that they set aside a copy of each set for me upon their arrival and make sure that they are in perfect flawless condition and to call me the morning they arrive. That way I am assured a pristine, mint set of each and local retailers usually recieve their copies a few days prior to online retailers so for something like this it probably makes more sense..
Every DVD I have ordered on line came in perfect condition. I have actually had more packaging problems with DVDs that came in a store, possibly because they were damaged by other people looking at DVDs in the store and not being careful with them when they put them back.

To echo 2099's sentiments, Amazon is by far the best online shipper that I have ever used. They pack well (wrapping the cases in large air cushions rather than the smaller bubble wraps) and I've NEVER had an issue with a shipment from them. If you're ordering online, I'd def go that route.

Amazon does rock, and as crazy as it sounds, I have to echo Dacp's comment. I've had more DVDs with funky cases from Best Buy and Circuit City than from ordering online. Only one time (my first order, actually) from Amazon, one of the DVD cases was less than perfect - and I e-mailed them and they sent out a replacement disc First Class that got there a few days later - with a return label. Everything was awesome.

Oh dear, spent just short of $200 at Amazon 
I've not seen the Mickey and Donald shorts for ages, so I'm really looking forward to getting them, and I've only seen a couple from "Frontlines", so that set should be really good too. Not so sure about "Tomorrowland", but gone for it anyway.
The only problem now is that I'll have nothing to watch them on after I sell the TV to pay for them

I only have two tins so far, and one I paid way over the top for (Goofy), so I figure I might be able to trade some of these Wave 3 titles for some I missed out on, once these are sold out, rather than buying from eBay.
With shipping costs (stupid UK!) it was $195 for 7 tins, only ordered one Tomorrowland.
