Perhaps Chip & Dale can be lumped into the Assorted Shorts Treasures, of which we can have 2 volumes. Building on that and MMP's list, here is my projection (I still don't think SOTS/SDTMH will be Treasures releases, and hope they won't be)...
Wave 5
Walt Disney Treasures - Silly Symphonies Volume 2
Walt Disney Treasures - The Chronological Donald Volume 2
Walt Disney Treasures - Assorted Treasures Set Volume 1
Walt Disney Treasures - True Life Adventures: The Featurettes
Wave 6
Walt Disney Treasures - Disneyland Volume 2
Walt Disney Treasures - The Complete Pluto Volume 2
Walt Disney Treasures - The Chronological Donald Volume 3
Wave 7
Walt Disney Treasures - Assorted Treasures Set Volume 2
Walt Disney Treasures - Mickey Mouse Club Volume 2- The Best Of The Club
Walt Disney Treasures - Disneyland Volume 3
Walt Disney Treasures - True Life Adventures: The Features Volume One
... This is getting a bit far away to make accurate predictions for. We don't know exactly how many shorts will be included on the upcoming Treasures (will they stretch some of these out to add one more volume?, etc.) I think the line could go a lot of ways at this point, possibly even becoming just Disney Treasures and branching into the post-Walt archive. It will be interesting to see. There's no shortage of available material that fans would like, though, that's for sure.
I think Zorro ran for three seasons and might be popular enough to stand on its own TV-on-DVD release outside of the Treasures. I've always thought it was its own TV show, where as Davy was part of Disneyland, but I'm not too confident about that, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Even those 3 together I don't think would add up to enough cartoons for a treasure - we're probably talking 20 cartoons or less??MPeriolat wrote:Well, the suggestion that has come up a few times is combining Chip 'n' Dale with Figaro, maybe even Humphrey the Bear to help pad out the set. I'd say there's reasonable doubt about Donald Duck: Two or three more volumes? Then I guess one could make an argument for two "Assorted" sets - or just one.awallaceunc wrote:... There should, however, be room for no more than one more Pluto and one more Silly Symphonies.

Hey, Aaron it was worth a shot. I hope that Song of the South and So Dear to my Heart will make it as Walt Disney Treasures or at least 2 Disc Special Editions or at least Platinum Edition if Disney is very desperate.(I still don't think SOTS/SDTMH will be Treasures releases, and hope they won't be)...

Yep, MMP, it would be great! I really think it will happen, too. I just think it will be a 2-Disc Special/Masterpiece Edition release, the reason being that if they made it a Treasures set, it would be a limited run collector's set. Disney knows how demanded SOTS is... if they are going to release it, they're going to make their money on it.

most likely the treasures will expand to 2007 or 2008 with 3- 4 donald sets left (depending on how they group them) that means that there probably will be one donald set every year till they complete the short collection in 2007 or 2008.
(assuming they release at least 2 short collections every year)

I didn't count exactly now, but there are somewhere about 80 Donald Duck shorts left. But how many will be included?
Are they going to repeat any or most of the war-themed DD shorts covered in the frontlines set? If none of those are included, and not longer pieces from later years, such as Mathmagic Land, either; there probably should be only two more DD sets - perhaps with less than 40 shorts on each.
Add most of the wartime DD shorts (wouldn't expect a repeat of Der Fuehrer's Face, though) and Mathmagic Land. There are also a couple more post-1956 half-long DD shorts. We could be up to three more DD sets with about/almost 30 shorts on each.
When we get a detailed announcement of the next DD set, we might be able to tell based on the number of shorts included and whether or not any of the wartime shorts are repeated.

And on this set they could also include the "special" DD titles I mentioned in my previous post.

It was my understanding that Zorro was featured on the Disneyland television show just as Davy Crockett was. It would definitely be one of my favorite Treasures sets.
As far as Song of the South coming out as a Treasure, it's really the only way I can think of for Disney to release it on a wide basis and still save face. Just as the Donald and Mickey releases have claimed "historical importance" in order to get released, I think SOTS will have to as well.
At any rate, it's an insane cycle that I hope Disney will end soon.

Insane cycle?
What do you mean, "insane cycle that you hope Disney will end soon?"
Do you want the Treasures line to come to an end? Or, is it that the time BETWEEN Treasure Wave releases is too long?
I wish they'd release them twice a year, like they did in 2004 after Wave 3 was delayed until Spring '04. Otherwise, this could take a while. Blue Ray technology will be on the horizon soon.

There were 4 "specials" that were broadcast on Dineyland and I think that it is very likely they could appear on a future treasures set. But as for the series of Zorro, there are far to many episodes and would probably be released in season box sets as they were in France.Big Bad Leroy Brown wrote:It was my understanding that Zorro was featured on the Disneyland television show just as Davy Crockett was. Extras
There 3 C&D, 3 Figaro and 2 Bear & Ranger = 8ohmahaaha wrote:Even those 3 together I don't think would add up to enough cartoons for a treasure - we're probably talking 20 cartoons or less??MPeriolat wrote:Well, the suggestion that has come up a few times is combining Chip 'n' Dale with Figaro, maybe even Humphrey the Bear to help pad out the set. The only other "Mickey Mouse Universe" spin offs from the big boys during the Walt Era (in which I count all 1967 items since they would have seen a lot of work prior to Walt's death in late 1966) were:
1. the 20 minute "Symposium on Popular Songs" with Lidwig Von Drake (1962)
2. the 15 minute "Scrooge McDuck And Money" (1967)
hope that the release of wave 6 is coming soon!!!
To release WD Treasures twice a year would be GREAT!!! To wait one year is just terrible!!!
Do you think that the wave 6 will be released on DECEMBER 2005? May 2005 would be BETTER! For sure!!!
