Question about Playful Pan

Post by Captain Hook »

I hear that there is a Silly Symphony called Playful Pan on the 2-disc Peter Pan DVD in France. Does anyone know anything about it? I read somewhere about it here, I think from 2099net.

Thanks

Yes, it's on the DVD! It's about a satyr and a forest that catches fire. The satyr has to save the forest and the animals and... that's it! It is only about 6-7 minutes, but a fun cartoon!

What does it have to do with Peter Pan though? I still don't get it! Maybe it's just cause the satyr is named Pan. :pan: Well, it sounds like a great cartoon. I SHOULD have picked up Silly Symphonies when it was on DVD, it was that also, right?

It has nothing to do with "Peter Pan" otherwise the title! Still, it's a nice adition to the Collector's Edition DVD!

I think this short wasn't on the "Silly Symphonies" DVD! Anyway, I'm sorry I didn't get the SS set when it was avaliable! I hope they rerelease it soon!

Ah, I was dumb and got the 1-disc of Peter Pan SE and Return to Neverland. It's too bad. Oh well! I'll probably not re-buy it because there are SO many more that I need to get, I just can't keep buying the same thing over again! I did that with The Emperor's New Groove, and still feel bad. I could have gotten Love Bug and Parent Trap for how much I spent!

I guess then it wasn't a Silly Symphony after all? Or do they just not want to put on B&W movies???

Yes it is a Silly Symphony
But there are a lot of them that not are included on the DVD set.
Black and white cartoons are also on the set!

I have the Silly Symphonies pack and i got angry when i found that the Merbabies SS wasn't been included.

By the way, why the british Snow White SE doesn't include the Goddes of Spring, included in the R1 edition? I have the R1 edition and it's not a very good cartoon, but it's quite strange that omission in UK.
I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

Merbabies is included - its an easter egg for some reason (perhaps because it wasn't animated by Disney artists?)

On the second screen of the "Fables and Fairy Tales" sub-menu, highlight "Lullaby Land" and press left to highlight Ambrose the Cat's sword. Selecting this will lead you to Walt's intro for "Merbabies" followed by the cartoon.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I think Merbabies was on Little Mermaid II DVD, if I'm not mistaken. Can anyone confirm this?
