Tarzan with Tarzan 2?
Tarzan with Tarzan 2?
Any clue whether Disney will rerelease Tarzan with the Tarzan prequel?

I always figured that they would, and recent reports of a re-release in other regions (for some it's even a first release) seems to back this up. I don't know when the DVD went on moratorium, but I know it was released back in 2000, so a re-release 5 years later seems pretty suitable. If Disney does indeed re-release the CE, they're going to have one jam packed schedule of 2-disc animated classics:
Bambi: Platinum Edition
Pocahontas: 10th Anniversary Edition
Lilo and Stitch: Special Edition
Tarzan: Special Edition
Cinderella: Platinum Edition
Not to mention there's the rumored Dumbo: SE floating about, which could be released side by side with Cinderella. Although I personally don't mind so many releases at all, it seems odd that Disney would release so much in a year (meaning Dumbo might get a 2006 release instead for its 65th anniversary).

If I had to pick from Yes, No, or Maybe, I'd pick Maybe.
I could definately see Disney following the release pattern they did with the Mulan SE and Mulan 2. But as Disneykid said, the list of probable 2-Disc Animated Classic releases for 2005 it getting kind of big, and Disney's never really released that many in one year before. But there's a first time for everything.
By the way, both the original Tarzan 1-disc DVD and the 2-Disc Collector's Edition went out of print at the beginning of 2002.

Well, probably they won't mind to re-release the single disc edition expecting to re-realease the Collector's Edition so they can double their sales.
I have the single disc edition and I don't care to upgrade because Tarzan is not one of my favorites; I've never liked the Tarzan story.
PS
A reminder for people that haven't seen it:

By the way, does someone know why Disney took it to the vault? I could understand that for Mulan for example since they were going to release a 2 disc edition but Tarzan alredy having one...

That's what I remember I wasn't to big in DVD's at that time. It might be re-release in 2007 since Tarzan will be in the vault for 5 years but I hope it comes out faster. Was it established that way?

Well, I have so many movies (like most of you) that I barely scratch the surface of most of the extras in them.RJKD23 wrote:WHAT?!Evil Genie Jafar wrote: I have the single disc edition and I don't care to upgrade because Tarzan is not one of my favorites; I've never liked the Tarzan story.
2-disc, more bonus features!
it's a good one to have! (my opinion)
And in the case of Tarzan much less, since I really don't like the story.

Tarzan is rumoured to get a 2-disc release in some european countries (countries that never got the special edition in the first place) So add to that the coincidence that the sequel is coming out this year, it is very likely it will be re-released. I sure hope so, since I missed out on the collector's edition.
I haven't seen that cover, but if it looked great I'd like to have it here in Finland too (it's coming in June if I remember right).Scabbie wrote:It's not a rumor. I saw today a new trailer for the Dutch 2-disc set in a shop. In the trailer there was a glimpse at the cover.
