No release date set for this one, but a Special Edition is indeed forthcoming.

Wow! Thanks a lot, Luke! I really can't wait for this one... I only hope they release it to the wide market, unlike the "Walt: The Man Behind The Myth" DVD.

"Out Of the Inkwell" series is actually officially available on DVD. I know its not really Disney but somebody posted about the vhs earlier so I thought I'd just point that out...

How good is this documentary? And how long? If it's any good I'd probably buy it. Not Ub Iwerks: The Hand Behind the Mouse though. The book it was based on contained a lot of false information, so I don't have much interest for that.

I am asking, how good is this documentary and how long is it? Is it worth buying?

Ub Iwerks: the Hand Behind the Mouse had a lot of false information in it, apparently. I read a review of it here:

I read the book of the Ub Iwerks story and it was a good read, but as I was reading it I could tell that some of it may have been a bit... exaggerated. It was nice to give Ub some much needed attention for his part in the Disney story but I think that since it was written by his grand daughter, it was a bit biased toward Ub.

I just checked out that Michael Barrier site.. sheesh! That guy isn't fond of to much is he? He seems to be one of those people who is a fan of animation but doesn't nothing but complain about it. I've never understood (or tolerated) that type of person...

I thought the very same thing, Maerj! I mean, geez - I'm as critical as the next person, but this guy seems hell-bent on destroying everything he touches!

That Finding Nemo commentary is especially acerbic...

I'm sure the Frank and Ollie DVD when it comes out will be Frank-tastic and Ollie-riffic :)

Just posted an update on the main page for this. Release date is 10/7. 1.85:1 widescreen, DD 5.1, too. Sheesh, no widescreen for The Moon-Spinners, Cheetah, Man of the House, etc...but for this. Kind of boggles the mind, but in a good way for F & O!
