Sixteen TV Movies You Would Release on DVD

Post by Luke »

If you were a Disney executive and had to choose EXACTLY 16 Disney TV movies to release on on DVD, which would you choose?

The full list, of course, is here:
http://www.ultimatedisney.com/tvmovies.htm

You might ask why would a Disney exec have to choose exactly 16 TV movies to release to DVD? Four waves of 4? 2 waves of 8? Why? And, the answer is, of course, that 16 jumped out at me when going through the list. So play along.

Both Disney Channel movies and the Wonderful World of Disney movies are fair game.

My sixteen:

Principal Takes a Holiday
My Date with the President's Daughter
The Even Stevens Movie
Oliver Twist (not fair they got this in R2)
The Love Bug ('97)
Horse Sense
Jumping Ship
You Wish!
Tru Confessions
H-E Double Hockey Sticks
Mr. Boogedy
Bride of Boogedy
The Growing Pains Movie
The Barefoot Executive
Little Spies
Fuzz Bucket

A few of these I haven't seen, a few I haven't seen in ages, and some are just awesome.

Yes, it was released in the Netherlands. Hennie's site has some info on it I think.

I'm not really familiar with too many of these, but I'll hvae a go at some of them:

Beyond Witch Mountain (because the other 2 are coming out)
The Parent Trap II (as Josh said, to complete the collection)
The Parent Trap III (ditto)
Parent Trap IV: Hawaiian Honeymoon (ditto)
The Love Bug (no idea if it is any good, but I have the Herbie box set now, so for completeness sake)

Ok, that isn't 16. But they are the ones I'd like...
Maybe I shouldn't have posted in this thread :(
I really don't know much about these films...

(from newest to oldest)

Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister
Tru Confessions
Get A Clue
Freaky Friday (not as good as the original, but still a nice little movie)
Escape to Witch Mountain (likewise)
Heidi
Polly (I *LOVED* this film as a kid and this is the only film, along with Ugly Stepsister, that I desperately want to own from this list)
Not Quite Human
The Parent Trap II (fun movie and like the others said, would be nice for completist's sake)
The Parent Trap III (see above)
The Parent Trap IV (see above)

Ok, so that's only 11, but that's as much as I can think of. :P

You can find it at amazon.fr (I've just ordered it myself :) ):

http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B ... tguidet-21

On another site it says the DVD is 1:85, 5.1 in English and French, with English, French and Dutch (!) subtitles.
So it's tailor-made for you, Brink!

The only TV movie I really care about is Even Stevens, it was so good and original! Sort of. Anyway, I also want A Ring of Endless Light to come out, because I read the book so long ago and missed the movie when it was on the Disney channel.

You know, I still think that Lizzie should have been a TV movie - Even Stevens deserved the theatrical release. ;)

What exactly is the Even Stevens Movie, anyway? I mean, what happened in it?

Even Stevens movie - the family is chosen to go on a trip to Mandalino, an uncharted island. They are really excited, but it turns out that it's a reality show, and the Stevens are being laughed at throughout America! And we finally get the showdown between Ren and Louis, definitly the highlight of the film!

Lizzie is dumb. You know, I saw The Moonspinners for the first time last night (on a wretched P&S DVD my parents bought) and I thought, "Oh, if ONLY they had made Lizzie more like this!" Lizzie could have actually done something more than become a pop star. There could have been a mystery like the Moon Spinners, or something... I don't know!

Oh yeah, I forgot about Lots of Luck... and I loved this one show "Gone are the Dayes", that was classic. And I did enjoy Luke of the Irish and Motorcrossed was Okay... Probably all should be put on DVD.
