Yippe! I'm going to Disneyland the first week of Febuary. I can't wait. I haven't been there since "2001". We call it the grandma trip because my mother takes the grandkids there every year, or at least try's to. This will mark the first time my child has been there. My son, my only child, Tyler will be at Disney with daddy. This warms my heart. I grew up going to Disney in the 80's and the memories will always be with me. Although last time I was there things seemed to be different as an adult. I hope seeing my boy there will relight that special flame. I hope all the good rides are running, last time I was there the Matterhorn was down. I know Space Mountain won't be running due to remodeling... Hopefully we can get some hopper passes and visit California Adventure too! I really wan't to ride The Tower of Terror! Anywho, does anyone else plan on visiting The Magic Kingdom this year???
No, I'm not going to Disneyland yet. I have been going to Disneyland since 2001 for three straight years. Getting kind of tried of Disneyland because I'm going on the same rides and seeing the same shows gets you tire. Yes, I had the annual passport.
I'm not going anymore since most rides aren't running. I'm planning to go for the 50th Anniversary or later in 2005 since Space Mountain isn't opening until November.
In February Disneyland Railroad, Enchanted Tiki Room & Tiki Juice Box, Mad Tea Party, Mickey's House, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Minnie's House, Mark Twain Riverboat, Walt Disney Story- Lincoln Theater, Mr. Toad Wild Ride and The Jungle Cruise will be closed for refurbishment.
But not at the same time some rides will be closed for like 2 weeks while other rides will be close for 2 weeks or even more.
But I recommend you to see Disney’s Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular and Disney’s Electrical Parade over in Disney’s California adventure and over in Disneyland you should see Fantasmic! and Snow While: An Musical Enchanting.

I'm hoping to go to Disneyland for my first (but not last) time sometime this year for the 50th anniversary (or possibly the beginning of next year). I just ordered the Unofficial Guide To Disneyland today... their WDW guide is so great. I haven't decided when I'm going yet, there are several factors I'm considering:
*Hotel & travel rates
*Attraction availability
*Weather and crowds
*School schedule
*50th anniversary offerings
*Possibility of being there on the actual anniversary date
*Holidays
While I'd like to make the 50th Anniversary trip my 2nd one so as not to "spoil" the park's classic look and feel, that's obviously no longer an option, and the chance to be there for the 50th celebration is just too good an opportunity to pass up. I definitely want to return and see it during a non-celebratory period too.
Ideally, I'd like to visit WDW within the next year + to see their grand celebration of their sister park's birthday as well, but that may be too difficult to pull off with finances and timing. I hate to miss any of it, but I think I'll give DL the priority this year. It's really quite a bit to weigh out, though, and while I know a considerable amount about WDW, I have a lot to learn about DL. Any info anyone wants to offer would be appreciated.
I've never been to Disneyland or Disney World sadly. Most people I know have been to Disney World but I really don't know many who have gone to Disneyland... actually I can't name any.
Like Pals, I've been an annual passholder for the last year too (though I've probably gone less than him - I'm not at all tired of it). I probably won't renew it until a little later in the year though, since so many rides are closed down in the spring and the summer is way too crowded (in WDW there's more space, but with DL, there can be grid lock all over the place in the summer). Can't wait for SM to re-open!
I've never been to Disneyland in California, although I've always wanted to. I have this Sing Along Songs video from the 1990s where the topic is Disneyland and from watching that, I always wanted to go.
I have however, been to WDW and Disneyland Paris. I actually preferred Disneyland Paris to Magic Kingdom of WDW as it had a more classic feeling to it and wasn't so hectic as WDW (not saying that MK is bad, I just prefer le Royaume Magique).
I thought I was going this summer, but something came up.
I want to go and I'm hoping THIS summer we will. Disneyland is close to my relatives, too. So I might get to see my grandma and my cousins, aunts and uncles. I haven't seen most of them in about.....5 or 6 years maybe!
I've been to Disneyland over a dozen times because I'm a Southern California resident. I haven't been to WDW yet, but I plan on making a trip there sometime within the next decade.
We're leaving for Disneyland in 10 days for an anniversary trip. From where I live, it's about a 6 hour drive. We're also planning on taking the kids in late February or early March, so we'll probably be getting annual passes. With those, we'll probably make another trip or two in the fall. The last time I went to Disneyland was December 2002. We went the week before Christmas and it was really nice and uncrowded.
We're staying at one of the hotels on Harbor Blvd across the street. In my opinion, those are the best places to stay because you don't have to pay for parking, or worry about driving to the park every morning. Plus, if you get one with a free breakfast, you don't have to worry about eating the most important meal of the day. From my research, the best hotels are the Park Inn, the Park Vue Inn, the Carousal Inn, Best Western Park Place Inn, Saga Ramada Inn. We're staying at the Park Inn this time. I've also stayed at the Best Western Park Place Inn. They've got good rooms if you have 6 people (two queens and a pull-out sofa sleeper). Others in my family have stayed at the others and all sound fine. I've also stayed at the HoJo, but they don't have the free breakfast.
Don't know if anyone cares for that info. But I'm getting excited for my trip!
I have been many a time, in fact I was the first Canadian ever to buy an annual pass. Took forever to get it registered because they couldnt handle my address. I havent been in about two years though. Just not enough rides going right now to make it worth it. I came close at one point last year but then Big Thunder Mountain went down again.
But in two weeks I am headed to DisneyWorld for the first time ever. And going on a Disney Cruise. Decided I would go after my ex employer finally paid me from four years ago after they finally got financed. Didnt need the money for anything else, so it was time to treat my daughter for her second birthday.
I will be going to Disney World again at the end of January. I can't wait. It will be my third time going in one year. I like it in January because the lines are a lot shorter.
If only, JJJ! I just got back from 2nd (well, technically my 3rd) WDW trip of 2004, and this most recent trip was completely self-financed (no help from the parentals for the first time). I'm hoping to take a trip to DL this year and possibly a WDW trip towards the beginning of '06. That's a lot to save up for on a college budget!
Chances are, I'll be going about September this year. It keeps getting pushed back, but we seem to have settled on September. Wanted to go in February so I could go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, but I guess that will have to wait for another year. Might still go to NO anyways. Otherwise, we'll go to LA, then somewhere closer (like San Franciso - although I went there as a kid - or Vegas, to do a 'scenes from Showgirls' tour ).
When are the US school holidays? We'll try and go after those have finished...
I believe if you go anytime from the 2nd week in September through the first week of October, you'll miss Labor Day and Fall Break crowds. However, at WDW, after Labor Day (first week in Sept) concludes, there are NO crowds in the park until Halloween. I don't know if that's also the case at DL, but it may well be.
