Anyone apart from me excited about Bambi PE?
Is it me or am I the only person who is excited about Bambi in Febuary (I know for North America it's March, but it's coming to Europe in Feb). I've seen loads of posts saying "I want The Little Mermaid PE now!" or "What do you want in Cinderella PE" but apart from a few posts in the press release, nobody is getting giddy about Bambi. Does anybody actually want these releases?
Personally, I am somewhat excited about Bambi. Although I prefer The Little Mermaid and Cinderella, I've not seen Bambi in years, and I'm quite anxious to revisit that movie as soon as possible.

I'm actually more excited about Bambi than I'm about Cinderella, I don't really know why. Maybe it's because I've seen Cinderella so many times and I know almost every scene of it and everything, it just doesn't feel new to me in the same way as Bambi which I haven't seen more than once. I don't remember much of it, almost nothing.
I'm really looking forward to the movie and all the extras, the cover-art, beautiful menu screens...

Im not looking forward too Cinderella or Lil Mermaid as well im not buying them......ok they are great films but i just dont want them in my collection!!
I cant wait for Jungle Book, 101 dalmations and Lady and the tramp!
Im looking forward also too seeing what "coming soon" dvd cover art is being shown in the Bambi booklet....most likely The Incredibles but i wonder if there will be anything about Lilo & Stitch 2??

hiiiii
I'm not as excited for Bambi as I am for The Little Mermaid and Cinderella, but I'm not completely indifferent to it either.
I haven't seen this movie in... well, since early elementary and I'm looking forward to watching it again; yknow, get my ol' memory jogging and whatnot. I only really remember the scene with Bambi's mother getting shot... stuff like that sticks with you when you're 6, I guess.

Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.

I'm more excited about Cinderella: PE and The Little Mermaid: PE then about Bambi: PE because Bambi is my least favorite Disney classic from the three that are going to be re-release later this year.

To tell you the truth, I've never seen Bambi in my life, only some trailers and that's all. The animation looks beautiful but that's all I can say. I'm really looking forward to this release, I want to buy all Platinum Editions for my collection. In the future, Bami will be difficult to find, and I'm guessing it will cost way more since it's Platinum. I rather buy it wheen it's released than regret it later.

Although I'm interested in getting it, I'm not really excited over it. To be honest, Bambi is my least favorite of the films that made it into the Platinum line. I'm much more looking forward to Cinderella, which I have waited for on DVD since 2000 when I first learned about and bought a DVD player. Both that and The Little Mermaid are the only Platinums left that I'm anxious over (unless you count the revised list, in which case I'm also anxious for Pinocchio and Peter Pan).

Like others have already said, I'm very interested in it, but I'm more excited for Cindy & TLM. Bambi has never been one of my favorites. Even as a kid, when I was at the peak of my Disney movie-watching craze, Bambi was my least-watched video. It's not that its a subpar film, but I guess I don't find much memorable about it. Nevertheless, I anticipate the DVD, and look forward to seeing the movie again.
Hi Everyone
Been a while since I posted so a very warm greeting to you all.
For those of you that haven't seen Bambi give this one a chance...even if you rent it before buying, at least have a look at it because it really is one of the most gorgeous films disney produced along with , Snow White, Pinocchio and Fantasia.
The opening scene makes great use of the Multiplane camera and is a site to behold as the scene comes into focus...and the section for the song "Little April Shower" is absolutely delightful.
I'm really looking forward to this one....don't be put off by the subject matter....the story while simple is is engaging. The animation is quite simply some of the most beautiful you are likly to see.
True Art!
Take care everyone.

I'm greatly looking foward to Bambi!
I think it is the best of Walt's original five classics. Cinderella is my favorite classic Disney fairy tale, but since I'm a guy, I'm a sucker for "Prince" movies, since they're few and far between - good ones anyway.
The Little Mermaid on the other hand, is my second favorite Disney classic of all time. It's great! Actually, I'm more excited about a non-Platinum re-release - Pocahontas! Then it would be Lilo & Stitch.

Exactly Joe! It's hard to believe some of the responses here on this thread. Bambi is a great film and to get a 2 disc set of it is a great thing for any animation fan or Disney fan. This set should be a must buy (and a must see) for anyone who regularly posts on this board.Joe Carioca wrote:I am really looking forward to it! My exact thoughts, I don't see why anybody wouldn't buy it. Even if some consider it it a lesser film it still coes with some kickarse bonus features.Maerj wrote:Exactly Joe!
