Disney Treasure (Tomorrowland)

Post by DEREKG »

Tomorrowland was the last Treasure I needed for my collection and I wasn't to sure if it was going to be something I'd really enjoy watching. Wow was I wrong! :o . It's really cool. 8) It's amazing how Walt put these shorts together. The animation is different from anything else out there. Even though these were produced in the 50's, there still fun to watch and very informative. Two Thumbs Up for sure!!! :D

Oh yeah, for the record I still need The Mickey Mouse Club Treasure.
That's another one I'm not to sure I'll enjoy. I'm sure I'll get it just to complete my Treasures though. Who knows? Mabye it will surprise me too...

Personally I doubt MMC would be a shocker, in terms of entertainment quality.

I also was very surprised by the Tomorrowland set, great stuff.

I found the tomorrow land DVD very interesting. All the expert scientists were foreigners. I think this is why America developed so fast in the sixties. They didn’t care where you came from; they just picked the best guy for the job, no matter origin!

And the star of the show was Werner von Braun, the father of all space travel! (And the V1 and V2 who terrorized England in WWII)

Well worth the money! I too have all the Treasurers except MMC...

We've seen that reaction towards "Tomorrowland" before. It took almost a year from those Treasures were announced until they were actually available. During that period a lot of people wrote they didn't expect much from that particular title but that they just might end up buying it anyway for the sake of completeness. Well, a lot of them got to see the light along the way! :D

I've actually been suprised in the same way. Not for Tomorrowland though, I knew that one would be good. The one that actually suprised me was Mickey Mouse Club. With all the sponsorship shorts and all the stuff that was usually edited out, it was actually quite entertaining. My only disappointment with the set was that Annette wasn't on it, but it's easily explained why she wouldn't be. It's been a long time since I've seen her, and she had seen better days then. They do give a small tribute to her though.

Best wishes to Annette.

I was surprised by the Disneyland USA clips. They were surprisingly funny and enlightening. I must say I enjoyed the problems they had on their live broadcast (like the demonstration of Nuclear power). Its also interesting to see how times have changed ("And gathered here is a group of boys. These boys are our future"- no girls?).

I didn't get Tommorrow Land because I thought I wouldn't enjoy it (as well as MMC). However, my friend did, so I can see it anyways. I skipped Pluto as well because... I'm tired of pluto in all the Mickey cartoons (no offense Pluto, your great!).
