Trying to figure out what movie or whatever this is.

Post by fusermajig »

I remember when I was a kid having this mickey video. I know that the mickey's christmas carol with scrooge and all of that were on it. But it also had stuff like goofy skiing, mickey and pluto putting up a christmas tree with the two chipmunks running around inside, and donald and his three nephews in the snow, with them plastering donald with snowballs and everything. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

I remember the Pluto short title with Chip, Dale and the Tree (Pluto's Christmas Tree) yet I can't remember the title of the other cartoons.

In TV airings, <i><a href="http://www.ultimatedisney.com/mmlivingc ... ">Mickey's Christmas Carol</i></a> is often paired with the Goofy short "Art of Skiing" and <a href="http://www.ultimatedisney.com/mmlivingc ... ">"Pluto's Christmas Tree"</a> (the one with Chip n' Dale and the tree). There might be one other short included. (The Donald and nephews one could be a different one; it doesn't ring a bell.) If not, with credits, that runs about 40 minutes, which with (a bit more than usual) commercials can fit into about an hour.

The links above take you to the appropriate sections of the <b>Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Volume 2</b> Treasure which houses the 1983 featurette-length short <i>Mickey's Christmas Carol</i> and "Pluto's Christmas Tree." "The Art of Skiing" is on the Goofy Treasure and the OOP "Santa Who?" DVD, perhaps among others.

Except for "A Christmas Carol" all of those shorts where released on VHS under the title "Disney Christmas Gift" a number of years ago and I have it somewhere around here.

There was a Donald short with the nephews and they built a snow battleship on a lake and they have a snowball fight with Donald.

I found it at Amazon - <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... =glance</a>

I too remember watching those cartoons with Mickey's Christmas Carol. My mom taped it for us when it first aired in 1983 and I still have the tape somewhere. I don't know if it has the title of the Donald Duck short, but it was my favorite of the three. I still recall the snow ball fight between him and his nephews, a classic. I don't believe it is on Donald Treasures dvd either, but hopefully it will be on the volume 2.

I saw that Donald short about a year ago on CBC after one of the Disney movies they showed. They occassionally show Disney shorts after The Wonderful World of Disney.

The Donald short you mentioned is one of my favourites but I forget what its called but I think its Donald's Snow Fight. :P

it is Donald's Snow Fight and no it isn't on anything i can find, so I would suspect it to be put on the volume 2 of the Treasures line.

I wish that the whole compilation would come out in DVD. Somehow Mickey's Christmas Carol isn't quite the same without the other cartoons.

I like Mickey's Christmas Carol alone but yeah it's great tos ee it with other shorts.

I really wish Disney would do a giftset collection of all their classic Christmas/winter themed shorts and specials in a christmas present like box. Having everything together would probably be a big seller too.

you're all wrong. That was A Walt Disney Christmas show. In the 90s Disney released a box set of 3 VHS

- Mickey's Christmas Carol
- Walt Disney Christmas
- Christmas Shorts

all those where in a red christmas box! which I was once a proud owner of! :D
