Signs have pointed to a True Life Adventures set and a Miscellaneous set (which would include "Donald in Mathmagicland" and "Ben & Me" programs, among other things) coming in the past. Neither has panned out yet, but maybe next December.

Did you know that Donald in Mathmagicland is available in the US on dvd, as part of Disney's educational series? It is a bit expensive (I think around $60).

A Google search revealed this site: http://dep.disney.go.com/educational/index

Edit: Mathmagicland is here: http://dep.disney.go.com/educational/st ... =77A83VL00

And Bill Nye episodes on DVD? Sweet! Educator's prices are a bit steep, though.

Also, Loretta Claiborne Story hasn't been released on DVD to the public yet.

I think that "Silly Symphonies Volume II," containing all remaining Silly symphonies not on the first set, is LONG overdue - especially since the first one was in the first wave.

I'd also like to see the others mentioned above, Donald Vol. 2, True Life Adventures and Assorted Treasures, but I would be interested in seeing another compilation of some sort of the old Disney TV show in some sort of theme, like "Tomorrowland" or "Behind the Scenes" were, if feasible.

Personally I think that for wave 5 we will see the following:

True Life Adventures This title has been coming for the past couple of years and keeps getting cancelled, I think that this year may be the yearwe see it! Depending on whether these sets will include just the features, just the featurettes or both will probably depend on how many TLA volumes there will be!

Donald Duck volume 2 Disney needs to have at least one castoon treasure with a famous star and since there are only donald and pluto left to complete, it seems the most logical that it out of the two, next year we will see donald

Miscellaneous shorts I think that this is high;e likely now that disney are running out of shorts featuring their main characters, however I don't think (as soem have suggested) that Donald in Mathmagicland would ever be on a miscellaneous set, I think it far more likely that it would be on the final donald set! Also people who talk about the miscellaneous shorts always only mention the two shorts 'Ben and Me' and 'Donald in Mathmagicland'. Is it possible there could be a little confusion between the UK release Walt Disney Fables DVD, which includes these two titles?

I think if Disney does release four volumes next year, it will probably be a collection of Disneyland episodes, similar to Behind the scenes and Disneyland USA, perhaps featuring one of the Disneyland miniseries (like the Davy Crockett set) Perhaps this could be Zorro! There were 4 hour length episodes of zorro. apart from the 30 minute episodes of the TV series, this could also be a way to test the water for a potential release of the complete zorro series like the current R2 dvd!

...and I'm still secretly hoping for a Disneyland/Walt Disney World attraction's films Treasure.

Or perhaps a Disney in 3D Treasure with Melody, Donald Applecore, and some of the 3D attractions films like Captain EO, etc.?

UK Walt Disney Fables DVD ... yeah that's a good point, Ichabod. In Germany we have had the same fables series ... but I missed that point.
Mathmagic land and Ben & Me are way too different for one treasure set :!:

3 or 4 tins next wave ? Well I think the development of upcoming treasures is not in progress anymore. It's all fixed and planned.

Wav1=4
Wav2=3
Wav3=4
Wav4=3
Wav5= <---- !! well 4 I guess :wink: allways planned as I think.

Another point is, that every wave has 2 cartoon tins, so I think this will go on in further waves, too.

just imagine :

2005
- Assorted Treasures Vol. 1
- Donald Vol. 2
- True life adventures Vol. 1
- Disney World - A dream lives on

2006
- Pluto Vol. 2
- The complete Alice Cartoons 1923-27 Vol.1
- The complete Zorro

2007
- Donald Vol. 3
- The Educantional Disney (I'm no fool, You and yours)
- The complete Nine Lives of Elfego Baca
- Silly Symphonies Vol. 2

2008
- The Chip & Dale Treasure set
- Oswald the lucky rabbit
- People and places - the complete series

2009
- Donald Vol. 4
- True life adventures Vol. 2
- Assorted Treasures Vol. 2
- a.s.o.

funny I have many more ideas :D

Some good ideas

Overall some good ideas, but I have to wonder how 3 Chip & Dale shorts are going to fill a set. Surely all the DD vs. C&D shorts will be on DD volumes 3 and 4. Are you expecting a set of mostly repeats?

I think we are mostly likely to see the 3 C&D shorts and 2 Ranger & Bear shorts, both DD spin-offs for the most part, on a special section of DD vol 4.

Similarly, I think we'll see the 3 Figaro shorts included on Pluto vol 2.

I agree that they may be included with the donald shorts, but I believe their 3 staring cartoons are going to be on the set released in January. So you can always buy them that way :)

Havn't we already discussed this? :lol:

Treasures Set 5?:
1)The Chronological Donald 2
2)Silly Symphsonies 2
3)Assorted Treasures (Ben and Me, the Small One, Figaro, Chip & Dale,etc)
4)True Life Adventures

Any suprise Treasures could be: The Forgotten Treasures or The Treasures of the South which would have Song of the South and So Dear to My Heart??
Best Movies of 2009:
1. Moon
2. Inglorious Basterds
3. The Hurt Locker
4. Coraline
5. Ponyo

Now that's exactly the line-up I want to see for the next wave. I'm sure it'll be 4 Treasures sets with the pattern that seems to have emerged. I would love to see two waves in 2005 like this year but I know why they have two in 2004 but maybe they could release two waves to get them on DVD before they try and make a go with blu-ray.

I wish... I could hope. 2004 was a a very dismal year for me and two waves of Treasures was actually something to look forward to.

And to think the word "complete" was contentious on the Pluto release! Of the 58 films made, only 40 still exist.

Again, only 11 of the 26 films survive, so it'd be a pretty empty treasure. But I like the direction you're thinking.

There's the 6 extant Laugh-O-gram produced films as well to consider.

If (and I stress if) Disney ever do the silent films - assuming they can get hold of transfers of all the extant films - the way to do it would be to split them into two volumes - Silent Disney Vol 1: 1922-1925 (32 films) and Vol 2: 1926-1928 (25 films).

Of course, if something like this did occur, it would be one of the finest, roundest, firmest, shiniest things Disney have ever done. I would go out and buy a hat specifically so I could take it off to them.

(You see, even an old curmudgeon like myself can enjoy a little futile speculation from time to time... :D )

I'm pretty sure Universal owns the character of Oswald, although the individual shots are Public Domain now (I think), Universal will most likely have the negatives needed for a truely great restoration (or knowing the history of Universal over its various ownerships, the negatives were destroyed long ago).

It's unlikely a decent looking Oswald set would be released - if Disney spends money on restoration, they would risk other companies releasing the shots from Disney's remasters. The same problem plagues an Alice or Laugh-O-Gram set.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

To be honest I don't think I could stomach an Alice treasure. I have the current 2 Alice DVDs from Inkwell images which is more than enough for me! They are the most dreary unentertaing things I have seen in my life! I find it hard enough to sit through one of them, let alone 2 discs full of them, it really is a chore!
