BVHV released Camp, Christmas, Jail, Stupid, and Slam Dunk.
Rides Again and School are from Monarch Home Video
10,000 and Family Album are from Knowwhutimean? Home Video
Africa and Army were released by Ventura Dist
Ernest Film Festival -- Baker & Taylor Video
Dr. Otto was an independent release from something called "Web Productions"
Goodtimes released all the "Hey Vern, It's Ernest" TV show videos, as well as "Greatest Hits" vol 1 and 2. "Your World As I See" it was probably a Goodtimes release also since it came out around the same time as "Greatest Hits: Vol 2", but I don't know that quite for sure. I think that's one of only a very few I'm missing from my collection -- it's only a 10-minute short film and it's not that good either.
"Ernest Goes To Splash Mountain" was never released -- it was a made-for-TV special.
For future reference when using IMDB, you can click on "company credits" to get the distributor info for most titles.

Dr. Otto was kinda weird -- it couldn't make up it's mind whether it wanted to be a dark comedy for adults or a kids movie. It was based on a character Varney did on his TV series, and like so many SNL movies based on one-joke characters, it didn't cut it as a feature length movie. But if you like Jim Varney, it's at least worth seeing for him -- there are a few funny moments, and he plays multiple characters (including a cameo as Ernest). You can probably find a video copy through ebay or some online retailer that sells old VHS.JiminyCrick91 wrote:also do you know how many are on dvd?(i althou i alredy have Camp,Stupid, and my fav goes to Jail on dvd)or what the one doc otto is like?
If you want to see which Ernest movies have been released on DVD, do a search for "ernest" on amazon.com. (I don't really recommend "Jail" because BVHV released in in full screen, darn them, which is sad because it's one of the best Ernest movies.) And for a list of nearly all his Ernest videos, see http://ernestfunclub.com/store.html
Also, if you're a fan of Jim Varney, I recommend "Treehouse Hostage" and "The Beverly Hillbillies". I still haven't seen "Daddy & Them" yet, starring Billy Bob Thornton and Varney in his last live-action appearance. I've read reviews that Varney finally got a chance to do a non-comedic role with "real" acting and they say his performance is quite good.

Here are some reviews of several of the films, over at DVDTalk.com:JiminyCrick91 wrote:Sorry for the LARGE year large bump but I just thoght about this: Voiceroy said that
Ernest Rides Again was from Monarch Home Video and that Army was released by Ventura Dist. BUT I got these two films on DVD from Lionsgate (new name has no space) so what's happening? Are they fakes?
http://dvdtalk.com/cineschlock/ernest/index.html
Ernest in the Army and Ernest goes to Africa have Ernest's Greatests Hits vol. 1, and Your World as I See it, divided between the two discs. My discs of these two are from Active Entertainment and Ventura. I don't have Ernest Rides Again, but it is possible that there were some studios sold or merged, and the new DVDs could be from Lionsgate.
On the other hand, I can't find any mention that Ernest Rides Again is on DVD, and there is no mention of Ernest films at www.lionsgate.com . Where did you get the DVDs?

My copy of " in the Army" is pretty bad it has no bounes and for around 30mins looks like a old VHS from the 80's that was stored badly (but somehow it still watchable). It also has disc art of the cover and the LGF logo "Rides agian" has this cover art: http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-DVD-ERNEST-RIDES ... otohosting and is up on amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006U ... 3608?n=130 There is no disc art just the name of the film the LGF logo and few other little things. The under sides ARE NOT blue. I got "Army" for $4.99 & "Rides Again" for $3.99 at a verylittlefuzzy wrote:

Here I go again with my spelling rant. Jiminy Crick, look at what you have written, and then see how many words you have misspelled.
What is bounes? Haven't figured that one out yet.
"witch" is supposed to be "which"......am I correct.
"specal" is supposed to be "special"
"groury" I think is supposed to be "grocery"
"releable" should be "reliable"
"bargin" should be "bargain"
"acoreding" I think you were trying to say "according"
I really think that you need help with your spelling and a "spell-chek" would be very helpful or even a dictionary at your right hand. I am sure you were just in a hurry and let these get by - if not, you need to take time to learn how to spell these 'easy' words correctly.
In reference to the Ernest and Vern things, I own a VHS video called "Hey Vern - 101 Best Commercials", which includes a lot of outtakes at the end, and is really a pretty funny program to have. I have transferred it to DVD-R for safe-keeping.

I know but I did not think about using spell check LAST YEAR! I thought about editing all my old posts but I’m so darn lazy.
And also for that last post yes my laptop was running out of power so I typed quickly and did not think about spelling at all. I'm sorry if it upset you. I had a BAD propulm (
Sorry I had too do it.) problem with grammar myself.Much like you have with spelling but for me it got so bad I would correct what the babies in “Rugrats” were saying.

Were you in too big of a hurry to find a dictionary to check your own spelling?dvdjunkie wrote:I really think that you need help with your spelling and a "spell-chek" would be very helpful or even a dictinary at your right hand. "Spell-Chek" is a brand name of a spell-checker for computers. I have one and the omission of one letter does not constitute an attack, sir.

Could a moderator please delete all this non-helpful blathering blatherskite about spelling?
Sheesh. Stick to the topic, please, and take your personal issues with someone (or someone's spelling) to PM or AIM where they belong.
And to littlefuzzy, thanks for your helpful reply since I wasn't around to follow-up myself.
