Karate Kid Collection (4 Pack)

Post by danamichelle »

Hi everyone,
I was just searching on BestBuy.com and saw that they are re-releasing the Karate Kid. I am so excited because I missed out on this movie the last time and it has now gone out of print.
The Karate Kid Collection will include : The Karate Kid, The Karate Kid Part II, The Karate Kid Part III and The Next Karate Kid. I could have lived without The Next Karate Kid being released in the set but the price doesn't seem that bad. BestBuy.com has it listed for $34.99 and Amazon.com has it listed for $25.87.
This will be released on February 1, 2005. I can't wait.

I'll be picking up this set for sure! Thanks for sharing the good news..

I'm ashamed to admit that I probably have a clearer memory of The Next Karate Kid than any of the sequels. Even the original is starting to get foggy in my mind. From what I recall, the first film is a slight step above '80s cheese like the Rocky sequels. I'd probably pay about $10 for the entire set, but not more. It's good that the first film will finally be widescreen on DVD.

I'd buy the original in anamorphic ws if available but like the Robocop box set I will not be forced to buy the (IMO) insipid sequels just to get the gem that is the original. It'll have to stay out of my collection until they release it on its own. The probably are doing it only in the box for the same reason as the Robocop Trilogy box (almost no one would buy the sequels).

The only sequal to the Karate Kid that I thought was really bad was The Next Karate Kid.
I will definitely be buying this set, probably the day it comes out.

Me too!

The first 2 were the best, the 3rd was still good. As for The Next Karate, it's worth a watch.

This set is a must have DANIELSON!!!

Bestbuy.com may still have some of The Next Karate Kid. I just looked on there website. It says they are backordered so shipment usually takes 5-7 days.
