R4 - Australia - October releases

Post by Loomis »

Because it is the first of the month, Buena Vista have announced their October 2003 releases. And they are fairly disappointing.
The only one that I'm really interested in is:
Winnie the Pooh: Halloween Double Feature which is probably the same as the Frankenpooh/Spookable Fun that is out in the US.
I guess this is good. I'm already sending too much this year :P
However, you can take a gander at the August through October Aussie releases here:

Hi Loomis!! ..........Have you heard anything re Lion King? One rumor Ive heard is that they dont want to release it here at the same time as the theatrical show hits sydney so it will be postponed until NEXT YEAR.. (like FEB).......Only a rumor mind, but Im already planning to hit the one click button at amazon.com because I cant wait that long...... Also I saw that target stores in Sydney are carrying the disney fables line (I dont remember seeing any announcements for it)..but sleepy hollow and litttle Hiawatha are available!!!!

The Lion King, last I heard, was slated for a November 30 release in Australia. At least that is according to TotalDVD.com.au
None fo the other retails stores have it for sales yet, and I have heard no announcement from Disney officially.

I ordered the Box from the US though. I can't wait either, and I want all the goodies for this one :D

As for the Fables stuff Mr arrow - whereabouts did you see them? Which Target stores I mean? I'm in Sydney (as you know), so I might check them out. I haven't seen them advertised either! Very cool...
(But I guess that means it is less likely we will see the Treasures sets)

November 30 certainly sounds a lot more reasonable than next year!!!
The fables DVDs are on sale at target in westfield Miranda as of this time I have not seen them on sale any where else.. It does seem odd I do not remember seeing any promotion for them any where.. Im sure they will start popping up everywhere soon. I wonder if we will eventually get a release of Ichabod and Mr toad ...............as one of the fables contains sleepy hollow.
Thanks for the link :)

I suppose I could head out to Miranda. But I guess all the Westfields/Target stores would have them. I'll try Pagewood....if I am out there anytime soon...Very strange there is no promotion though. Even the Disney site does not mention them (nor does the BVHE site, which is even stranger as that lists ALL of Buena Vista's releases, even Touchstone/Miramax etc).

I don't think I'll get the one with Sleepy Hollow in it. I'd rather have it as the 'Ichabod and Mr toad' DVD. They had Fables released there, and I believe Ichabod and Mr toad has just been released in the UK, along with an UNCUT Melody Time. So perhaps in a few months we will see the same thing (we have been getting MOST of the UK releases within 6 months of release lately, and even sooner with the Pooh releases, so let us hope the trend continues).

Thanks for the info, Mr arrow
(any nickname that has arrow in it is fine by me, as I am one of the world's biggest Green Arrow fans. I doubt your name refers to it, but I love the nickname anyways :P)
