My Snow White Dvd disc 1 is skipping
I'm wondering what can I do to fix it. It has a few scratches on it. (I cant replace it since its OOP) Any suggestions? I play this disc on my Playstation 2 by the way.
Return of the King is coming, are you ready?
The problem is PLAYSTATION 2.
Buy a real DVD player, PS2 SUCKS!
If you own Beauty & The Beast: Platinum, you won't even be able to get through the first half of the movie before the disc becomes "unreadable".
You can always purchase an upgrade for your PS2 which would make it more compatible for playing newer discs but imo its a waste of time. I remember finding a website once which listed every single DVD that wouldnt read, or would skip and cause playback problems on the PS2, it was very surprising! I still can't watch Fight Club cause it won't read past the first 15 minutes...

I believe Disney's online support will offer a replacement, even if the disc is Out-of-Print. Might even be free. At any rate, it'd be worth checking out if you think the problem is with the disc and not the player.

Thanks, but StashOne
I have Beauty and the Beast. My playstation 2 plays it flawlessly. (however theres a part where Gaston and the smaller guy is conspiring to get that psychiatrist guy to throw belles father into a ward) and it looks as though it freezes for a second (where he says I love it) but it plays the whole movie. Its not that bad! Anyway Luke, I called the number on the disc, it does have a scratch they said they would send me a prepostage paid envelope to send the disc back. I may have to pay 10.00 to replace it if it has two many scratches ( I'm afraid it does I need to take better care of that disc, Its that stupid case its in). Thats what they told me. So I will send it back and pay the 10 bucks, I hate movies that skip. It drives me nuts. Thanks for the help Luke, I didnt think they would replace it.

I don't know for certain about Beauty and the Beast, but that sounds like a layer change. Most players freeze/slow for a second or so when the player starts to read from the second layer of a dual-layered disc. So, that wouldn't be your fault, assuming that that spot is where the layer change is. (Although I thought that PS2s were supposed to be good at hiding layer changes.)TheBionicWoman wrote:I have Beauty and the Beast. My playstation 2 plays it flawlessly. Glad to hear they'll replace it for you.
