Awww
Sorry about my rude comments folks.
It is so sweet to see Julie Andrews, and Dick Van Dyke together again. They look just so cute together.
It was so nice to see Karen Dotrice again. She still looks as cute and darling as she did when she was a child. But where is Mathew Garber ? He should have been their with Karen.
Even Though Glynis Johns, has aged. She still has that beautiful distinguished look. She is like a bottle of fine wine. As it ages it gets more beautiful.
And it is nice to see Phyllis Diller again, I didn't know she was still alive she still looks like a beautiful flower in blossom.
And Richard Sherman looks dashing and snazzy as ever.
And Peter Ellenshaw looks like he has aged but still that good ole guy who did such beautiful jobs on the setwork.

Mary Poppins comments.
Some of these comments about the appearances of Disney performers is so un-Disney-like as not to be believed!
Glynnis Johns was selected by Walt to play Mrs. Banks more than 40 years ago. I don't care HOW she looks - SHE was in the movie and DESERVES to be there.
As for Phyllis Diller, members of her family, including a nephew, helped make and work on some of the Disney DVDs this website promotes and helps publicize. She was also the voice of the Queen in "A Bug's Life," so some of these hateful comments aside, she's done more with her life and career than 99 percent of the trolls and wanna-be's anywhere on the Internet...
True Disney fans shouldn't be so nasty and hateful as some of the postings so far on here!

Re: Awww
That sure is a mean-spirited post, Disney Guru (e.g., has-been, one foot in grave, throwing up, etc.). Maybe you should realize that it's better to be a has-been (as you described Phyllis Diller), than a never-was.Disney Guru wrote:It is so sweet to see Julie Andrews, and Dick Van Dyke together again. But Karen Dotrice looks like she is about readdy to throw up or something.
And I feel really sorry for Glynis Johns. She was so beautiful and so talented, but now she looks like she is one foot in the grave.
And what is up with Phyllis Diller being there. SHe is a has been. She hasn't been popular since the early 70's.
And Richard Sherman looks dashing and snazzy as ever.
And Peter Ellenshaw looks like he has aged but still that good ole guy who did such beautiful jobs on the setwork.

Yes, Ollie does look like he's on his last hinges. But if you think about it, him and frank were so close he's probably about ready to leave earth and join him...and even though he looks old and wrinkled to most of us, he will always be one of the best animators in all of history.KennyMccormick wrote:Another person you gotta feel sorry for is Ollie Johnston. He looks as though he is ready to join his friend Frank Thomas in heaven.
I love to see pictures of stuff like this.
Karen Dotrice kind of reminds me of an aged J.K. Rowling, but she's still fairly attractive.
Glynis Johns looks very distinguished. I love the film THE COURT JESTER which is a musical in which she co-stars with Angela Lansbury and Danny Kaye...
Mr. Van Dyke Looks a bit older than I thought he would, but Andrews looks great for her age. I sure wish that I could have been at that premiere.
Mary Poppins' DVD is only 14 days away!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for posting the pics, Luke! It's so nice to see DVD looking all swell and spry. What a slick guy!
Karen Dotrice's dress is beautiful, and I do think she looks a little bit like J.K. Rowling as well.
Oh, and since when does being in a wheelchair make somebody an object of pity?

Wow. This looks like it was quite an awesome event. Thanks for the post, Luke. Now I wish that footage of THIS event could have been included on the new DVD set, but I know that is quite impossible.
Was there any coverage of this on T.V.? There should have been. I love the penguins!!! That's a great touch.
Julie is looking really beautiful in these photographs. It's great to see that most of the stars made it to the event. That is so wonderful. How I would have loved to have seen this in person.

Walt Disney wanted to make a Mary Poppins sequel
And Julie Andrews almost didn't make the DVD premiere (bad traffic). Read all about the premiere here:
