I just got an unopened OOP version of "The Little Mermaid" on VHS, for only $15 (came with all the stickers and such) at the flea market. I asked the lady if she had any DVDs, but she said no. Oh well, I'm happy just to have the film - it's bound to be a collector's item once the 2006 PE comes out on DVD. :D

When I first posted I had about 70.

I just recouonted to find that I had 115 Disney DVDs! (And I was only counting the box sets as 1, except in the case of the Vault box). I'm simultaneously impressed and disgusted with myself!

I have an additional 10 coming over the next few months, although that figure is sure to increase...

I have a whole slew of the VHS releases... but only a couple on DVD (counting animated and live action Disney releases, of course).

I do know that I don't have Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, or The Little Mermaid in any format, though. I really want them on DVD. T^T
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.

I only really started collecting Disney DVDs a few months ago; so I don't have too many yet. I'm also reluctant to buy 1-disc (or even badly produced, or "kiddie", 2-disc) editions. Unfortunately, I missed out on the first 2 Platinum Edition movies; and the current 2 are vastly inferior in terms of extras so I probably won't bother with them until they're released on HD-DVD or Blu-Ray (hopefully Disney will have smartened up by then). So right now, I only have 12. Fortunately, I was able to find the only pre-Wave 3 (Wave 3 is still pretty easy to find around here) Disney Treasure I was interested in ("Behind the Scenes...") still available at one of the more extensive DVD stores in my area, so I have all the Treasures I want at the moment.

Disney/Pixar/Vista Series

1. Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2-disc CE)
2. Bug's Life, A (2-disc CE, 2003 ver.)
3. Dinosaur (2-disc CE)
4. Emperor's New Groove, The (2-disc CE)
5. Finding Nemo
6. Monster's, Inc.
7. Tron (20th Anniversary 2-disc CE)
8. Who Framed Roger Rabbit (Vista Series)

Walt Disney Treasures

1. Walt Disney Treasures: Behind the Scenes
2. Walt Disney Treasures: Chronological Donald, The
3. Walt Disney Treasures: On the Front Lines
4. Walt Disney Treasures: Tomorrowland

There are a few live action ones I have on my list of things to get at some point in the future (Parent Trap and Swiss Family Robinson from the Vault Disney line, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Love Bug SE, etc.). I kind of want the Tarzan CE that I missed out on as well; but it's hard to find now. Unfortunately, I also missed out on the Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box, but I'm hoping Disney will release Toy Story 1 & 2 as seperate, 2-disc SE's at some point in the future.

I'll continue to buy both the animated classics (most, probably) and live-actions (a fair number) that I enjoyed as Disney releases good DVDs with well-done extras.

I think I started my Disney DVD collection a couple of months ago, I'm not sure, because I've been buying Disney DVD:s for almost a year but not really "collecting" them. But now I'm officially collecting them and trying to buy as many Special Editions and Platinum Editions as possible. I don't like those ordinary releases which you see in the stores all the time (no extras and not a very good quality either).

Classics (not in chronological order)

1. The Lion King: Platinum Edition (2-disc)
2. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Platinum Edition (2-disc)
3. Aladdin: Platinum Edition (2-disc)
4. Mulan: Special Edition (2-disc)
5. Pinocchio (1-disc)

Sequels
The Lion King 3

Live-Actions
Mary Poppis 40th Anniversary DVD (2-disc)
Freaky Friday (2003)

Walt Disney Treasures
Chronological Donald
