I liked it, but if I was you I would use my money on an upcoming movie like Bambi Platinum Edition, the Walt Disney Treasures, or Pochahontas Special Edition. :)

If you have already bought it, I wouldn't return it!

I actually really enjoyed it, although it is more like 3-episodes of a TV series (which, in fact, it is) than a full-length feature.

I felt disappointed when it was over, as 'Team Atlantis' could have been one of the best Disney TV shows to come out of the Studio. Guess we will never know now...

Have you ever considered renting before you buy? You seem to be buying a lot of Disney DVDs that you immediately want to exchange!

Given the choice, I'd say Sword in the Stone, as I think it is a fun film with the best set of extras out of those DVDs. But to echo Luke's comments, try the review page and see which one works for you:

I thought Atlantis 2: Milo's Return was horrible sequel. In fact it wasn't suppose to be a sequel at all it was a series that wasn't able to be on television so it was an episode movies.

100%. Truely a masterwork. I have no idea how they think they can beat it with a platinum release.

how about

70th aniversary Platinum Edition

Ultra Resolution 3-strip b/w Technicolor digital scan/enhancement
Movie in it's several lenghths/versions with seamless branching, from purely for kiddies with almost no narration, to full length uncensored roadshow.
Restored full narrator audio track with newly recovered elements or digital sound morphing of a better, closer sounding actor for the missing bits so we get Deems Taylor.
Original Fantasound and alternate 80's Digitally recorded soundtrack or maybe even a new one in full 6.1 channel DTS surround.

Probably some more stuff can be found to make more supplements. There's always room for Jell-O.

And mmm..

1080 x 1485 35mm Technicolor quality pixels with uncompressed 192 kHz 24 bit audio served on a blue platter.!

Well it can happen!

;)

Ultimately it's up to you. It depends on how much you appreciate the "Fantasia concept" and its history. It may not be for everyone.

I would have paid several times the price of the whole set for the "Clair de Lune" segment alone. If I had to. Fortunately, I didn't have to.

Actually, Pals, the rumor Fantasia 2006 isn't coming soon. Supposedly, its been axed, which is the reason we saw that "One By One" short on TLKII DVD - it was reportedly intended for the next installment of Fantasia.

These are two of Disney's greatest films, and the amount of extra material is staggering! This anthology has at least one audio commentary for each segment, deleted concepts, stills, documentary footage, and some other stuff I cannot recall from memory.

Deathie mouse: you can already skip the narration if you want to do so. Yes, you have to push the "next scene" button on the remote, but you don't have to wait for the next release to take advantage of it. 8)

Some standout sequences include "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," "Rhapsody In Blue," and "Pomp and Circumstance."
"Mustard? Don't let's be silly!"

Actually you get 4 commentaries in this set. One from Walt himself, and I have to say, its pretty darn good.
