T.V. Shows on DVD

Post by MagiChar »

Does anyone think some of the shows should be on DVD? Like in season box sets, not a couple episodes per dvd.
I'd like to see Darkwing Duck and Gargoyles.

Yeah, House of Mouse is a good show. What was the last new episode?

Never really watched much of the House of Mouse. It does screen here, but only watched a few episodes. Like it, and would definitely buy season sets (if reasonably priced).
As I have said in other posts, would love to see Rescue Rangers, Tail Spin & Duck Tales on DVD. I doubt this will ever happen though.
We might see the Duck Tales movie on DVD though...

I know I'd like to see the Zorro series (in B/W), the Original Mickey Mouse Club and Texas John Slaughter (Maybe even Spin and Marty) on DVD.

I guess I'm showing my age, even though these were made before I was born. ;-)

I to would like to see Disney put all thes sets out to DVD!

Post by Papa Bear »

I would love to see the day when Disney sees the money that they could make by releasing all of their wonderful family television shows on DVD. But I really can't see it happening at least not in the near future, so for now I am taking matters into mt own hands I just got Rescue Rangers and the Gummi Bears on Video Cds so I am in the process of trying to transfer them all on to DVD I am new at this process but was rather excited when I got my irst trial DVD to work; so now I am going to spend all my free time and try to get both of these sets as well as the Ducktales set which I have ordered on VCD onto DVD and if any of you are interested in copies of them send me an email and I will let you know when I get them done. The playback on the DVD was alot better than what I was getting off of the VCD So I am excited!!! Once I get these done I am going to look into getting some others Telaspin, Darkwing Duck, and any others I can find to bad the older shows like Zorro, Mickey Mouse club and all the others are not as easily found.

These shows NEED to be re-released in DVD box sets (but also VHS, for those like me stuck in the stone age).

DuckTales*
Gummi Bears*
Wuzzles
Bonkers
TaleSpin*
Goof Troop*
Darkwing Duck
Little Mermaid*
Rescue Rangers*
Aladdin
New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh*
Jungle Cubs*
101 Dalmatians*
Doug*
Recess*
Pepper Ann*********** (love this show SOOOOOOOOO much!)
Sabrina
Teacher's Pet
Teamo Supremo
Kim Possible
Proud Family
Filmore
Buzz Lightyear
Legend of Tarzan
Weekenders

...and of course, HOUSE OF MOUSE!* (but I'd settle for MickeyMouseWorks, if that's the way they're going to do it).

*these are the series I really want to see be released, and the others are just the ones I know would do well. Or, at least I think so.

The original Mickey Mouse Club please! I have a couple videotapes but it's just not enough. That deserves a complete release.. maybe as one of the Disney Treasures tins?

And I remember watching the Disney Afternoon all the time as a kid. :) Wish for any of those on DVD...especially Gummi Bears and Darkwing Duck.

Also, I'm not sure who owns this, but I *think* Disney had a hand in it, and it used to air on Family channel... anyone remember Flash Forward? Starred Ben Foster (great actor who went on to work in Freaks & Geeks and Six Feet Under) and Jewel Staite (recently in Joss Whedon's Firefly).

I loved Flash Forward. I kind of see it as the (superior) forerunner for Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire and other such trying-to-be-quirky-kiddie-comedy shows. Sort of in the same way My So-Called Life influenced many later dramas (Dawson's Creek, Felicity etc) which borrowed certain aspects of MSCL, but were more mainstream and thus not as short-lived. Not knocking DC and Felicity though, I enjoy watching them but not in the same way I *love* MSCL with a passion.

Sorry, went off on a tangent.

Oh, I'd also buy The Little Mermaid series on dvd...maybe because it was the first (?) spin-off tv series of a Disney animated film, it had this charm that I find lacking in later series like Aladdin and Tarzan. Plus I liked the songs. :)

I dunno if this will be removed but for ducktales, try {cough}kazaa{cough}

Lots of episodes. I've found i'd say98% of em, so 98 out of 100 eps.

Ducktales, Rescue Rangers,Talespin and actually the muppet babies. loved those shows, some of the few i can dare to watch now and not feel embarassed for ever liking em.

You ever try to go back and watch he-man? Yikes.

I remember Flash Forward! It used to be on Family Channel all the time! And yes, a lot like Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire.

Does anyone remember the show "The Torkelsons" and its spin-off, "Almost Home"? That was a great show, and it definitely deserves a DVD/VHS release.

ya know the more i think about it, the more i really miss the original disney afternoon.

Gummi Bears, Ducktales, Rescue Rangers and Talespin. To me it slowly started going down hill from there. Darkwing duck was good but not as good, same with goof troop. than they started bonkers which i wasnt crazy about at all and that was followed by the "it's a movie...no wait, it's a series" tv shows.

nobody makes em like the original disney afternoon. it looked like someone actually put effort into it rather than the new "Stylish" approach which to me was just a way to cover up the fact that they either cant draw or want to do it as fast as possible.

i would love to see
all 3 seasons of disney channel's "so weird"on dvd
not in the last part because my man erik von detten (Brink!)
is in season 1 and 3 :P

i don't realy have any afiliation with any of the animated shows
as i hate dubbing and when they aired here they were always dubbed in dutch and i refuse to wach animation that does not feature original voice cast

Gargoyles season one box set is due out next year to coincide with the series 10th anniversary. It should include some bonus features and commentary tracks.

As for Disney series Id like to see released...

Wuzzles
Gummi Bears
Duck Tales
Rescue Rangers
Darkwing Duck
Tale Spin
Goof Troop
Bonkers
Marsupilami

Etc...

I wish they'd release all their original afternoon series but unfortunately that will never happen...
