although I still think it is a Groundhog's Day special, I will agree that it is somewhat winter oriented -- mostly about the end of winter though

how do you feel about the Rankin/Bass stop-motion special ""Rudolf and Frosty's Christmas in July" -- is it a Christmas DVD too?

btw, Rankin/Bass didn't do claymation :wink:

Yeah, I mean stop-motion by claymation, my bad. :wink: Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July is a tough one for me. I usually end up watching it at Christmas, just because it seems too weird to remove Christmas characters and put them into another season.

I believe Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas is my only christmas dvd. I am such a grinch.

Speaking of the 1979 Rankin/Bass Jack Frost, does anyone here have it on DVD? If so, is it the Front Row or Delta studio release? I got the Front Row release from eBay and the quality is of TV standard, at best. The video is filled with artifacts and grain and the audio sounds a little muted. I'm wondering if it's like that on all the releases?

I have it on DVD, but I am not sure which release it is. I'll try to dig it out this weekend and see; I think it is packed away with my Groundhog Day decorations. However, even if I have a different version than you, since I only have the one version, it might be hard for me to compare the quality.

I just added one more to my Christmas dvd collection.
Miracle on 34th Street (The Original One). I loved that movie but I might be a little bias because I absolutely love Natalie Wood.

I doubt they're different from the Rankin/Bass DVDs that have been around for years. Some of them looked quite good for their age and roots, but "The Little Drummer Boy" showed lots of wear-and-tear, I thought.

I'm thinking of adding Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas to my collection next week.
