I was just wondering "what are the most influencial Disney movies in your life? These films must have some signifigance (eg- first Disney movie you owned) and give reasons fo why they are so significant.
1. Alice in Wonderland
The First Disney Movie I ever saw was either this or Dumbo. I love the movie and I still pop it in from time to time. The one that started it all for me...
2. Sleeping Beauty
The First Disney Movie I had on video was Sleeping Beauty (I saw Alice somewhere else). I used to watch this every day...
3. Cinderella
This was the first Disney movie I saw on the big screen back in March
1991. I was nearly three years old, but I still remember bits of it...
4. The Lion King
First Disney movie I bought on DVD for me! Crap bonus features, but it started to get me addicted to Disney DVD...
5. Fun and Fancy Free
I've never seen this film but on hearing about it, I did a search on it leading to me finding a link to the review on this website. I lurked around for a few months but in June, I finally signed up and I'm now a member all thanks to this film.

1.DUMBO - was the first Disney movie I saw; could even be the first animated movie I saw.
2. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids- one of the very few (Disney) live action movies that I like. The reason for it is because I watched it in a really nice moment in my childhood.
4. Mary Poppins; who doesn't love this movie and meant something to his/her life?
3. Aladdin- the movie that made me a fan.
4. Lilo & Stitch - the Disney movie I've seen the most in theaters: 2 or 3 times
5. Treasure Planet- represents the story of my life.
7. Brother Bear- almost made me cry. That's a first especially since Dumbo was the last movie that almost did that for me.
Oh yeah, and Pinochio was an amazing movie and scared me the scene of Mostro.

Not Disney but Pixar; Finding Nemo. Not only it's my favorite movie of them but it was the movie I had to wait the most to see. When it reached theaters in PR and never could watch it. All my firends saw it and were telling me how awesome it was; made plans to watch it with them but never happened. By that time I went to Spain. And that was when I saw it. When it came months later. I think it reached theaters by the time the movie came out in DVD in America.

These are all my favorites, but they aren't really in the same order I'd rank them just going by the movie itself.
1. The Lion King - Without question, impacted me the most. I hear stories from those older than I about how much movies like Star Wars or Indiana Jones impacted them as kids - TLK did the same to me, perhaps in an even greater way.
2. The Little Mermaid - my first movie ever
3. Beauty and the Beast - Though I wasn't as absolutely crazy for it as I was for TLK, I still was very much into it as a kid, and its now my favorite Disney film.
4. Pinocchio - One of my first movies ever, my second Disney film after TLM
5. Fantasia - This is the only Disney movie that really impacted me in recent years. It heavily influenced the artwork I did for a while.

1..... Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs The One that started it all, was the one that started it all for myself. Still one of my favorites, SW was the best thing since sliced bread!
2..... The Little Mermaid My all time favorite Disney movie, this was one of the first Disney movies I ever saw and I still love it!
3..... Cinderella My second favorite Disney flick, Cinderella was my first Disney video, and know is my favorite collectible in my house.

The movie that truly means the most to me is The Lion King. Besides being my all-time favorite movie, it was the one that really made me a Disney fan, made me appreciate animated movies more, and it teaches the audience an important lesson. The story itself is a classic, and I remember this was the first and probably the last movie ever that made me cry.
2- Aladdin- My second favorite Disney movie, it's still fun to watch today as it was back in 1993, which was the year I owned the VHS. Never get tired of watching it.
3- Beauty and the Beast- Not obssesed with it but it's still a great movie and I like watching it.
4- The Little Mermaid- This movie was the one that broke the barriers and brought back the Disney magic. My first VHS.
5- One of the few Disney movies I saw in theaters,, I enjoyed it and I think it's one of the best ones. (Not a lot of people would agree with me).

The Fox & the Hound was the first animated film I saw in the theater, therefore stands out in my mind as special to me.
Dragonslayer was the first live action film I saw in the theater and left the most impression. (Scared Stiff).
After going to Disneyland Mr. Toad's wild ride and Peter Pan were my favorite rides, so I became very fond of both movies. The Adventures of Icabod & Mr. Toad & Peter Pan...

I think Fantasia was the first Disney film I saw and/or owned on VHS. It is an ancient copy released by Village/Roadshow. The film had a huge impact on me, and I think the Bald Mountain scenes still resonate today.
I believe The Little Mermaid was the first Disney DVD I bought, at that was way back in 1999 or whenever it was that it came out. Barebones it may be, but it is still my most treasured disc in the set. Quite easily my favourite movie, I could watch this one again and again.
I have rebought several DVDs (Snow White, Beauty & the Beast, Lilo & Stitch, Pocahontas, Atlantis, Pinocchio), but that has more to do with new special editions or packaging than anything else. It is not to say that I wouldn't have bought them anyways, as Lilo & Stitch and Atlantis are two of my favourite films. In fact, I doubt I will ever get sick of Lilo & Stitch . So that holds a particularly special place too.
There are so many I love, but I suppose those are the three that had a big impact.
Mind you, after seeing The Emperor's New Groove, I was running around saying "I've been turned into a cow. May I be excused?". That's pretty influential. Of course, I am strange.

1. Pocahontas....
It was the first movie (I am pretty sure correct me if I am wrong) with lovers of different races and cultures (:cough:Esmerelda and Phebous are Poca and John wannabes) it taught us about nature, and respect for your hertiage, whatever it may be and your people. It is also how I met my best friend of 10 years at the Pocahontas show at Disneyland and fell in love with my first gay guy (dont ask)

Peter Pan was the first person I ever fell in love with. I wanted to live with him, be with him, I wanted him to fly here and take me away back to neverland, away from the harsh realities of the world. Peter Pan always has been and always will be apart of my life because I will never fully grow up.

Aladdin. The first movie I ever saw in theaters. I love it so much! It's always been my favorite, but, ah...I didn't really realize it until about two years ago. I used to be a huge anime fan and thought that Disney couldn't compare with Japanese stories and art. Then, I saw Aladdin again. Thank-you, Aladdin! You saved my life! 
Snow White -- I was an eighties kid, so had a Viewmaster with snow White discs, I used to watch them zillions of times before I got a VCR
Cinderella -- I used to hear the LP disc for the soundtrack everytime my two little cousins came to my house when I was little
Aladdin -- I was like 10, hated everything "kiddy" and Disney-cute-sweet related, you know, I was "a grown up" (yes hahaha), then I watched this movie and puff!!! I was a fan again!!

As a kid, I was more in to the shorts. There was a show called "Mouse Tracks", I believe, on the Disney Channel that showed them all the time. And later on a show called "Toon Town Kids" or something. As far as films, I'd have to say The Sword in the Stone, The Jungle Book, Robin Hood, and The Swiss Family Robinson.

Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Cinderella and Sword in the Stone. For no particular reason other than that I used to watch these films over and over as a kid I guess the films we see as kids leave a certain impression on us that remains..special. Robin Hood is also a film I used to watch a lot. Oh and Beauty and the Beast
