I don't think the UK release is, this cover on Amazon.co.uk says nothing about a 2nd disc.

I've heard the Masterpiece Edition didn't have that much quality extras, there's more childish games than interesting documentaries or other stuff. Of course I want the 2-disc more and our possiblities in getting it is almost sure (or maybe it is), but I don't think the second disc is something very important if the extras really are stupid.

Yes, but the single disc is keeping the childish games and removing the best extra off the 2 disc set (The One Hour In Wonderland - Walt's very first TV programme). :x

The Region 4 disc looks like it doesn't have the "One Hour in Wonderland" either.

I'll be sticking with my Gold Collection version for a while longer, then.

The Masterpiece Edition is worth buying just for the wonderful restoration of the film that looks brighter than ever !

The Alice in Wonderland, Masterpiece edition dvd set. Isn't overloaded with special features but it has a lot of nice ones on it still.

Couldn't find the proper topic so here it goes.

It seem the double edition of "Alice" is indeed exclusive to the US. I found this on a French forum:
J'ai le regret de vous annoncer que l'édition française d'Alice ne comprendra que un dvd (...) source sûr d'un pote de la fnac qui a ses sources et qui explique le prix fnac.

En retrouvant les fiches de préco, l'édition française était prévu en 2 DVD mais finalement le projet a été abndonné (comme le roi lion 2 en double DVD par soucis d'économie de Buena Vista)

Edition exclusive ? Oui, les français ont l'exclusivité de cette arnaque avec nos amis du bénélux...

My knowledgement of the French language is very limited (make that VERY) but from what I could understeand, the project of releasing a 2-disc set of "Alice" in Frace was dropped (like the double edition of "Lion King II" last year) and only a 1-disc edition is going to be released, much like the edition released all around the world but the US.

I'll ne purchasing the 2 Disk one. Why should I pay full price for a one disk movie when there's a 2 disk one available? It just doesn't seem logical!

We won't get the 2-disc version here in Finland either, it feels weird that even France will be left out. I don't know if I want to order the R1-version if the extras are bad, but it is still a 2-disc version..

If you forget the Virtual Tea Party crap, all the extras on the region 1 Masterpiece Edition are great. Maybe it can't put up with some other Disney special editions, but it is one of my favorites DVDs nonetheless.

Hmm! Amazon is still listing it as a 2 disc!

I think I will wait and see, as I would rather have the PAL French one than the NTSC US one. And hey I could have got the US one 14 months ago, I 've waited this long, another couple of months won't hurt!
